And now I'm in an awkward place, because I've been friends with her since I was 4, but Wayne and my brother really love her boyfriend, and have been close to him for about a year and a half now.
So, uh, do I sever ties with him? Or can I be friends with both of them, or what? I mean, what's the deal? Wayne doesn't care either way, he'll still be friends with the boyfriend regardless. But do I have some sort of rule that says that I shouldn't be friends with him? I don't know how these things work.
They're still trying to "be friends," so maybe it's okay?

Yeah I'm sure you'll all get over it and get on together. Unless the break-up was really ugly i don't see any reason why you can't continue to be friends

I suppose so. I want to be friends with him, he's a really sweet guy. I just don't know if it's a faux pas, or not.
My friend always seemed to get jealous when I'd call him to see if he wanted to do something with me and Wayne. Not seriously jealous, she'd just be like "So...I heard you were calling my boyfriend ;) ....".
Don't chicks have some kind of deal that you're not supposed to be friends with their ex's? I mean, I don't want to hurt her feelings, or whatever. I don't know how wimmins work. :(

You should be ashamed of yourself.
SHAME!
You have two friends that need you.
And just because one of them has a penis....
*breaks down crying*
No. I'll be okay. Can you get me some water?
WHYYYYY???? OH GOD WHY?????

Hahahaha...I know, I know. It's just the sort of thing, where I wouldn't even know him if it wasn't through her.
Like, I don't know how I'd feel if Wayne and I ever broke up and people were still friends with him. Like, it'd be awkward if I called up my friends and was like "Yo, what are you up to?" and they're like "hangin' out with your ex-man".
Luckily, since my brother and Wayne are both friends with him, maybe I could use the excuse that THEY were the ones who called, and I tagged along.

I posted a similar thread a while ago. :p
My long-time male friend and his wife broke up. She left him. For a long time, I've liked her better. I'm trying to be friends with both, but it's gotten awkward as they started dating other people. She's been great about not pumping me for info, but it's still very hard because she's dating someone wildly inappropriate and other people are talking. In the long run, I bet I quit being friends with him.

You should never stop being friends with anyone over a breakup, just give it time and space and everything rights itself.
