1) it's funny, but hardly good as a "good film"

2) better than good. the further away you can smell it, the better.

I just had chicken pasta with fresh baguette & some Danish blue 20 mins ago. ahhhhhahahahayeahhhhahaha. (y)

Starship Troopers: both good & bad--bad movie, but good because I saw it with my kid, who had been looking forward to it and I have fun memories of that day

blue cheese: bad--someone tricked me into trying it and I hated it (too tangy)

I prefer a Star Trek movie and jarlsberg

I remember expecting it to be pretty radical.

I was then very sad by it's unradicalness.

I liked Starship Troopers.

It's a good movie for folks who thought Robocop was too subtle.

Haven't read the book, though.

Blue Cheese. I say it's good.

Funny connection cuz "Damn bugs whacked him, Johnny." just happens to be the cheesiest line in cinema history. Although, overall, I enjoyed watching Starship Troopers and I love me some "Bleu" Cheese.

But they were trying to be cheesy. But you know what other cheesy thing I loved about it; was the R and R night on the bug planet when suddenly it becomes a civil war camp where everyone is wearing suspenders, square dancing to a fiddle. I heard about the book it was based on but never read it. It might have been in reference to the Korean War, I'm not sure.

But they were trying to be cheesy.

Fully. I somewhat remember being all "Dude's name is Johnny Rico? Jesus Christ." Then about 5 minutes later..........yeah, I knew what was up.

Starship Troopers the book, was way better than the movie. I was very disappointed with the movie. In the book, the soldiers wore these really awesome suits that made them hulk-like, they could run fast and leap over huge distances and heights and they were super strong and indestructible. It was a huge part of the story and to leave it out of the movie was absurd.
Also, there were a lot of social issues touched on in the book that were outdated by the time the movie was made, so they were just skimmed over. The end of the book was supposed to be a huge shocker when you realized that the main character wasn't from white suburban America, but from somwhere in South America  "gasp" and also that the whole world was under one government. Reading it now makes the race shocker seem a little silly, but apparently when it was first published it raised some eyebrows. Another differnce that disappointed me was that in the book, the really beautiful girls in the military shaved their heads willingly too be taken more seriously. I would have liked to seen that in the movie.

I have never eaten blue cheese. I just can't eat ugly food.

Starship Troopers is awesome. It's actually a pretty good satire flick, though most people didn't notice that. It's also an allegory to fascism, too.

Blue cheese... truth be told, I don't think I've had blue cheese before. I love brie and camenbert, however.
