The Blood And Tissue Center Needs You!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With all the devestation, in the north gulf coast many people have lost blood, and are dying, you may not be aware of the fact that the blood reserves in that area were destroyed, therefore every type of blood is needed very much.

If you have not given blood, please schedule an apointment .

I gave blood last tuesday.

If you are afraid it hurts, trust me, it feels great, especially if you focus on how much help that 20 minutes of your life is going to do.

There are people in dire need to be rescued, babies dying, and this is something that you can do to help preserve life.

Please for the love of god, schedule an apointment and give blood.

THIS IS AN EMERGENCY!!

Can't, I only gave blood a month ago and I don't think it travels well.

But I'm bumping the thread because it's always a good idea to give blood.

But in America I don't think the nurse sticking needles in you is responsible for their own equipment - or so someone said here. I asked last time I went to the donors and they do in the UK. How bizarre. But until someone said here it didn't even accur to me to ask. But I am kinda slow....

i used to donate every 56 days. i haven't been able to for a few years, because of tattoos and other high risk activities. i'd like to, but they don't want it. shame, because i'm RH O POS, the universal donor.

i was assured that the things you are all mentioning are rumours that are not true.

PLEASE GO IN AND TAKE THE TIME TO FILL OUT THE QUESTIONAIRE.

they will screen you, and will test it before it is transfused.

Whats not true?

You can only give bllod every three months here.

The nurses look after equipmet in the UK and not USA as far as I'm aware

Not sure about the weight thing but it makes sense

You cannot give blood for years after tattoo's

Which ones?

I donated blood when they came my school last year. I'd like to get my hands on a roll of those "Be nice to me. I donated blood today." stickers. I'd wear it everyday and continually point at it. ;)
