I love poker I've been thinking about starting online but scared I'll go bankrupt

magnify your inexperience, act stupid, watch your opponents closely, bet large, be consistent... it makes people nervous. i made a killing the first time i played.

Main tip would be, go with instinct. If you think some one has nothing they probably have. Unless they are pro's then don't play with them. Stay in your league. Do not bet more than the hand is worth unless you are sure that you can beat them.

most important tip, bring beer! I hate when new guys show up to our poker games and don't bring any damn beer.

well you have two very oppersite tips there.

I'd say play your own game but then that means you wouldn't be playing against others and you'll lose.

it's really easy to learn (just google search for it, and it'll give you the basics) but it's very hard to master. you'll be right though (y)

http://www.scorepoker.com/ is free, and you have unlimited cash. it's texas hold 'em, too.

Texas Hold 'em is the only way to play in my opinion. And you have to play for money, at least 5 bucks per game preferably 20, otherwise people dont give a fuck about going all in. Its high risk, high reward shit (y)

Tip: Always bet big on a pair of 2's, i know it sounds crazy but whenever i have a pair of twos i always bet, because for some reason it always wins, somehow. Its like the hand that picks when people are trying to bluff you.

Decide early in the hand if you are in or out, commit yourself one way or the other. Indecision will kill you. Don't wait for a flush or a straight, you have either have it or you don't.

It's a very easy game to learn. My advice would be don'worry about winning or losing money. Just play they game. If you think about the money it we'll distract you from the game. People will be able to read you alot better. Good luck.

be sporadic and retarded
talking in creepy voices and acting like yer not paying attention works well too
booze always makes poker nights more fun

this isnt ESPN poker, its fun with friends so just have a blast even if you have no idea what you are doing you could still end up winning
and if on the other hand you lose your 5 bucks or even your 10 bones its still cheaper than going out to the movies

texas holdem is fun, but its better to mix shit up

pineapple/skeetskeet/7stud/5stud/5draw/manilla/ohmaha/misery/blindwildcards/makeuprandomgames is sweetness

but yeah, master the hold'em first and then youll be fine and dandy

best thing Ive ever said at a poker game where me and a female friend were playing all 30+ year old married guys was:

"DUDE, i do believe she just Uncle Jessied your flush!!!"
