Like, movies where there is no "conventional" protagonist, just one character that's less bad than the others. Or satires mocking old tv shows. Songs poking fun at the simple pleasures of enjoying music, or life in general. Like, no, we wouldn't want to do that. You see, we live in an age where being a smartass is more accepted/cool than when you're being sincere. It's everywhere. Even on this message board. Nobody wants to hear about your happiness. I'm the same way; I'd rather make fun of you. What's my point? I don't know. Just thinking out loud, I suppose. Anybody know what I mean? No? Okay, I'm gonna go get coffee now.

the same with meaningless chit chat. people just want to talk without saying anythig of real importance and they sure as hell don't listen.
people want to be entertained; gossip, fart jokes, sex talk or dumb sport shit. i'm a religious studies major, politically aware and musically inclined, i couldn't give half a flying fuck about your car, the weather or what you think about some broad or how you think nickelback and avril lavigne are rock'n roll.
i'd rather, and i do, just not say anything.

But it's more of a postmodern attitude. Anyway, yes. Very apt.
Here's a good example: People on the board that do that whole "OMG LOL !!!1111" thing or whatever usually do it more in a condescending/patronizing manner. I'd say that only about 5 or 10% of the people that do that think it's totally not gay at all. But now it's gotten to the point where making fun of it is even gayer than just meaning it, because it's played the F out now. Seeumsayin?
Just go ahead and be gay because you'd be even more gay if you just made fun of it. Meaning it is less gay than pretending to mean it, when in reality you have no identity of your own and all you can do is make fun of shit because your personality is lacking. Just mean the shit. You're not funny/charming/witty just because you can laugh at everybody else without actually saying something yourself. Be funny. Stop making fun of shit. You only make fun of shit because you're NOT funny. I can make fun of whatever I want though, because I happen to be brilliant.

Close. A Nuzze (avec mark d'accent) moment is long, sweaty, ephipanous, and in the end only a few people get it and most dislike you. It really reinforces one's sense of pretentious self-imposed alienated superiority. I think you took it some place nicer. A mickillavelian moment.
