One man's dog is another man's bitch.
She was waaaaay dope in that Kama Sutra movie. Showing her perfect tah tahs and what not. Scha-wing.
p.s. Indira is the name of my girlfriend's fish.
The show is decent. I think it would be alot better if I paid attention to what was going on more than just having it on in the background as I fold my laundry and cook some food.

I had a friend try to talk me into watching that when it started but I'm on a TV diet.
I didn't start it--should I have?

true that, true that... I saw some commercials for it and the production is amazing for something that will never be seen in a movie theater.
If you liked Animal House then you'll like Rome.

If you liked Happy Days then you'll like Rome.
Its one of the shows you have to dive into from the beginning because you are already catching up. Its quick pased and has a lot of characters. I can see it maturing nicely.
Its like Deadwood. You can't just cook and fold laundry while watching it because you'll miss alot. Its still a baby though and not as polished as Deadwood.

I dont think I watch that much tv. But with so many things being repeated, its easy to catch stuff.
Plus, I remember a lot of useless information. TV would fall into that catagory.

Thanks for the summary. I have a better picture of it now. I might watch it if HBO restarts the series. Hope you had a great birthday, by the way.

For at least 15 years of my life, I thought Rome was a country. And finally at 17, I hit puberty.

i loved rome. i rate it right up there with oz, in terms of hbo's best productions. although it tended to be quite soapy, the production values, direction, and acting were outstanding. james purefoy proved that he probably did the best mark antony ever. ditto polly walker, a really foxy cougar (http://www.hbo.com/rome/img/homepage/episodics/ep22_atia.jpg), who slayed as atia. i only started watching from the second season, when i got satellite, and hopefully the first season will be re-aired again sometime soon. although it was rushed, because the bbc bailed on the project, the second season was really enjoyable - especially the civil war epic battle between octavian/antony against brutus/cicero. my only other complaint really is that they made octavian into an asshole, when he was actually one of the republic's/empire's best leaders.

Three people already told me to watch it, but I still didn't.
I will now though. Because of the third person, the most important one.
You're the 4th. Hihihihi!!!:p

Rome was awesome. The production values are nothing short of amazing, especially the scenes in Egypt (I swear, watch the bits with Roman soldiers marching through Alexandria and then turn on CNN and watch the troops convoy through Baghdad, it makes you wonder what century you're in). It take some pretty extreme liberties with the history, but it looks so good it's hard to find fault. James Purefoy, as mentioned, does a stellar turn as Antony - but I also thought Ray Stevenson was excellent as Titus Pullo, especially in season two.
And say what you will about Octavian as a leader, but he controlled people's personal lives ruthlessly. He arranged his friends' and family's marriages to suit his whims, just like in the series, and I thought the last few episodes did a good job conveying what it might have been like to be directly related to the little boy who became one of the most powerful men in the world.
i watched the first season and i loved it
i hear the second season features a substantial amount of anal sex
i'm not thrilled about that but i did like the first season

my roommate just got me in to this show. I just finished the first season and I enjoy it quite a bit. I'm excited to see Season 2.
Talk about scandalous though. Damn.

I watched maybe five episodes. It's pretty well done, but I didn't like or care about any of the characters, so I stopped.

yeah but that was the norm back then, as was slavery. regardless, augustus caesar was one of the empire's greatest and most enlightened leaders, if not the best.

How ammusing to find this post back on the first page. I just finished the 2nd season yesterday. Its too bad they had to rush so much story for closure since it was cancelled.
I don't watch as much TV as I use to. I hope that puts some peoples mind at ease.
