View Full Version : All your Bass belong to us!
On the heels of the Sex and Baseline threads I'd like to know what you, the poster, would consider some of the bass heaviest tracks in the entire galaxy. 2 Live Crew is a given though. Come on.
a lot of the crappy 50cent etc etc songs have tonnes of bass.
just saying...
You're not saying anything. You might as well say "Rapp has bass lol." Which songs in particular? Brass Monkey is pretty bass heavy, for example. Throw me a frickin' bone here. It doesn't even have to be hip hop either.
in that case; Sad but True has some heavy bass in it; especially back in the day when performed live.
Intergalactic has a nice heavy line.

Early 2 Live Crew, early Beasties, old Eazy E/NWA all had the same kind of bass. They all used TR 808 drum machines too. The 808 kick is the single greatest bass sound ever, I think, because it can be picked up on even the weakest speakers.
Some great songs that best utilized the 808 sound:
Rock The Bells - LL Cool J
Posse On Broadway - Sir Mix-A- Lot
P.S.K. - Schoolly D
I Ain't No Joke - Eric B & Rakim
T'Cha T'Cha - BDP
Together Forever/Peter Piper - Run DMC
Posse In Effect/Paul Revere - Beasties
Every great early Too $hort song.
When I used to want to show people what the system in my car could do, I used to play "One Man Band" off the first Xecutioners album. That's got serious bumps.

Oh cmon...
I have a big ass sub in the boot of my car and I gotta say the biggest bass in hip hop belongs to the beasties.
1. "Hello Brooklyn"
2. "Ch-Check it Out"
Both awesome...rattles your internal organs!
Gotta agree about the 808 kick drum, its the biz! (y)

I've never been a fan of the Miami bass sound. However, I'll never forget when Beth laughed me out of her office when I told her Dedication blew my speakers and I wanted to have a class action lawsuit because I'm sure it wasn't just a threat to my speakers.
That hurt Beth
