On my Visa Card! LOL.

My brother David wanted a new dog, a male one. And he wanted me to help him pick one out. We ended up picking "Bobby"- a six year old German Shepherd Mix. He was left there tied to a fence but all the ladies that work there said he's one of the best dogs and often looked over because of his age. When we took him outside for the dog run, he was SO spritely. He has to get his shots, a microchip, and of course, fixed.

And we're renaming him "Duke" for my dad's favourite baseball player: Duke Snyder.

He comes home on Tuesday! :)

Congrats!

My dog has a microchip too. It's a shot they give him in his neck, so a chip is embedded in his skin. That way, if he's EVER lost, he can be traced back to us because all of his information is on that chip. It's like a permanent collar.

Well, the weird thing about this dog is the fact that nobody ever really owned him. We were calling him Bobby...and he didn't give a shit. Hah. So when the girl said we can rename him we started thinking of names, immediately.

David wanted this one dog named Panda. It was gorgeous, some husky mix. And he also thought of getting a Dalmation but the one we saw looked all sweet in its picture and then when you'd say his name, he started barking like he was going to kill you. All of those dogs are on death row, man. They looked SO depressed.

And yeah...getting your dog microchipped is very important, especially when you live in a big county.

Thanks for the well wishes, guys! I think this is one of the best things I've done all year. I feel really good about it. :)

Funny you say that, Shawn.

My German Shepherd Mix, Valerie is 10 years old and she's still playful like a puppy.

Plus, she likes getting stoned. Keeps 'em young.

Do you have a job? You're on this messageboard in everyone's threads, talking about your non-existent sex life, your horniness, and how you don't need weed.

What happened to when you were "dying" from something last year and you couldn't ride your bike anymore? I miss those days.

Good on ya! I hate when people pass over animals because of their age (I am guilty of doing this myself but wouldn't do it again). Also...I think its pretty badass how a lot of people are adopting a lot of the pets from N'awlins that got seperated from their owners.

Thanks, you guys! I just got an e-mail from my best friend in high school and she said "I don't think it's a good idea that you got another dog". We have two dogs but like I mentioned, this one really is going to be David's dog. He had his surgery today and everything went fine so he's ready to come home tomorrow morning! Eek!

Aww, that's so cute Jess! When I first moved up to Sacramento my friend's Rottweiler had a tattoo like that and I thought that was a really ingenious idea.

So, Duke came home today. I'm going to take pictures with my Mom's camera and hopefully have 'em uploaded soon. Oh, and his microchip needs to be reprogrammed because it turns out his old owner had him microchipped already and didn't let the pound know about it. The lady on the phone said that it can be reprogrammed on the internet. Learn something new everyday, I s'pose. (lb)
