i haven't done that in over a year. i always get so nervous whenever i do call out. i get dry heaves. i just couldn't deal with that place today. maybe i'll actaully get some reading done for class today.
i don't like calling in sick or what have you either. makes me feel like i'm letting my work down.
i get nervous about that too. one day i just decided not to call at all and just not show up. nobody even said anything, but i didn't try my luck by trying to get away with it twice.

ohh i hate that too. i did it kind of often toward the end there at my old job...but always felt guilty, even though it was always legitimate.

I don't like to call off work either, even when I'm sick an probably shouldn't go, I go anyways. Money is money.

i no-showed once. it was about two weeks before this other place i was working at closed down. one of my managers was giveing me shit. i just asked her,"what are you gonna do about it?". then it finally dawned on her that it didn't really matter, and she was cool about it.

i have this attitude with alot of things; but when you work on checkout/register... it really is not a good thing to be sick and work.
last time i worked with a hangover - i almost passed out. and pretty much every second person i served told me i look like shit.
