more and more I hear paranoid people discuss how they think we're steadily approaching the beginning of the end. Its entirely possible that may or may not be true but realistically, what the fuck difference does it make other than the fact that it'd suck to die and assuming all the biblical stuff is true, its coming...why sweat it and make your life miserable? Assuming we're all gonna be dead in like 5 years then fuck it, enjoy it while we can.

I seriously believe that the end of the world will occur in my lifetime...

It might, but only in that self-fulfilling prophecy kinda way methinks. Although the biblical version would be kinda cool just because of the zombies.

. Although the biblical version would be kinda cool just because of the zombies.

Hell yes

But yeah, what's the real point of worrying about it anyway? If there's not shit you can do, then might as well eat some onion rings and carry on with your life, impending doom or not.

there's this crazy-ass old lady that shops at my store that calls herself a psychic "seer" and reads tarot cards for the sweet little old woman i work with...and when Katrina was at its peak and all, she came in and we were talking about it...and then she looked at me and said "but you know, it's going to get worse...all over the world. no one is safe. i know this." and pointed at her temple, then slowly to me. i half-expected to be on camera or something. it was too perfect.

i think it was more to the effect of establishing a connection or something. the funniest thing was the little woman i work with was telling me how she believes in the other lady's powers...she read her cards for her, and HALF of the stuff she said came true!

I think we're living in the end of days.

You only need to look how low mainstream culture has sunk to see where we're headed next.

the world ain't goin nowhere....

"the end of times" scenerio and the belief in it has been a re-occuring theme in human civilization since it began....

and obvioulsy, all previous claims were wrong....
why should anyone believe that any current predictions will be any more accurate?

I was talking to someone the other day and he seemed well informed about catatrophes that are just right around the corner. He was talking about massive computer crashes, planes falling from the sky, Alanis Morrisette putting out an acoustic versions of overplayed songs people had long tried to forget and Lex Luther is going to become the President of the US. A pretty picture was not painted in this doomsday scenerio

Y2K or something to that effect~look it up. They may be on to something here. Pardon me now while I drink some milk out of the jug. Let teh good times roll

What is this talk about zombies? I've never read the bible or anything so splain please. The only zombie reference I know of is Easter aka Zombie Day.

Also, in my fantasy world I like to believe that we will have a couple of generations that will get to experience peace through out the world. But then it will all end because of past generations fucking up the planet so much that all the peace in the world can't stop whatever it is that will make us all go buh bye.

They change the date for the end of the world all the time. I remember reading in 94 or so that the world would in aug of 97, and my mom told me she saw something that said it was supposed to end in 80, so it's pointless.

It'd be nice to know when exactly the world would end only because it would suck if I emptied my bank account in an attempt to livX0rs and then have to deal with the debt until 'The END'. So I could then feel absolutely fine when I max out the Gold American Express card a few hours before I'm toast/zombified/saved/sent to hell.

The first thing I think about when I hear talk of the end of existence as we know it is how inactive my sex life is right now.

The dead are supposed to rise or something when Jesus comes back. I dunno, gmsisko could answer this. It's about the only question he CAN answer.

Wow, I've gotten approximately 70% of the stuff I've predicted using tarot cards right, and I don't even believe in that stuff.

when Y2K came around, I was pretty sure the world WASN'T coming to an end anytime soon. For centuries people have thought the Second coming was on arrival, and done crazy shit. Even one of my ancestors lead Mennonites across asia with claims of a second coming. He was wrong three times and went crazy. might have been divulging in opium too. he he he.

I don't know about the second coming, but I do have a heightened sense the last couple of years that something awefull is on the near horizen, especially for the United States. I can't see how a system built on greed and growing to the excesses that we have isn't heading for a financial disaster (and all that debt); It doesn't seem to me we have a backup plan or any preparation in the case ( or, I should say WHEN) our market falls through. It's like we're patching a financial damn instead of doing something else that needs to be done.

In the case of the Second coming, I feel no need to worry, in the other case it'll be some pretty nasty and gory times I believe.

I think it is more likely that an asteroid hit on earth will be the end of us. Colliding heavy particles through that atom excellorator is believed to be pretty dangerous too.

So, yeah, we've got a lot going against our existance. I think more of us need to work on living our lives more cool in any case.
