I did it for the first time last year in Korea so I figured I wouldn't be nervous this time... but I was. Especially when the tech has the needle in my arm and looks all worried and goes "DUDE! You're not gonna make it!!!" then turns around to grab some more gauze all frantically. It wasn't until after he took the needle out of my arm and told me to put direct pressure on the area and rub in circles that he told me that he had screwed up and now I was gonna have a huge bruise on my arm because I was bleeding under my skin. So I was relieved that I was ~indeed~ "gonna make it". So they wrap up my arm and they took blood from my other arm. After that I got a free pint class so that was cool... anyway, how was your day?

Love,
Tone Capone

I met up with an ex. Why do I never realise this is NOT a good idea until after.

Anyway, good for you for giving blood! (y)

You know that when you go back to the US, you won't be eligible to be a blood donor any more? BSE and all that. You've been here longer than 6 months, right?

I always get the trainees. Sixteen year olds that have held a needle only three times in their life and two of them was to shoot smack.

ive been giving blood, twice a year, since i was 17 and eligible. except for the times that i go donate and they turn me away because i have low iron count. on top of that, i get blood tests about every 3-4 months.

im used to needles. i actually dont mind them at all anymore.

i actually think it's kinda cool and really wanna learn to do it for myself. but not in a heroin way.

will you please quit trying to make yourself sound like a good guy....Ima hafta go Paul Harvey on you and tell everyone the rest of the story....

When Tone first arrived in England he didn't have too many friends and was looking for a crowd that would accept him. Well he came across these lame-o wannabe goth people who claimed to be vampires. Anyway they told Tone he could be down if he broke into the local blood bank and stole them some lunch. So he did, got caught and as part of his plea bargain the judge order him to give blood as often as possible to help replenish the stock he destroyed stumbling and falling as he made his escape attempt.

I only let my mom draw my blood. she's a phlabotomist(yeah I can't spell it), though she isn't currently working as one. She the fucking best. my veins aren't that easy to get cause they are kinda deep and I've had people poke around in my arm for 20 minutes trying to get my blood. But, I swear to god she never misses a vein and she so good that you won't even feel the needle at all. not even a pinch. yay mom! (y)

You can tell a lot about a country by what they give you after drawing blood; the UK it's a cup of tea or a pint, Germany is a ham sandwich, and (based purely on by film watching) in the USA you get filthy lucre!

they won't let me give blood. i'm not "pure" enough or something.

it seems a bit discriminatory that just because i've done things in the past, they won't take it now.

i've had tests done. i'm good. surely they do tests anyway?

oh, over here, if you go on tuesdays you get pizza.
