So I was thinking moving to california, usa and I wonder if the art institutes have better classes and equal amount of classes as does State Universitys?
I want to know for sure which ones better to transfer to.

it depends.

For the most part, I find that the institutes have more focus on applying your art to industry. Where the universities just have you explore art. I wanted to apply art skills to a specific industry (just because I want to be sure to have food in my tummy and a roof over my head haha) so I picked an institute over a university.

Depending on what you want to major in exactly is a big factor for deciding on this, as well as deciding which school to go to once you figure out the institute/uni thing.

I would give more input if I knew what you were looking for.

Isn't going to university for art a huge waste of money?

well, in america it would be, aren't degrees at least $20,000?
here, you don't have to pay for it, unless your degree gets you a well-paying job.

I don't think so, as long as you can apply it to an industry that has jobs for artists.

There will always be a demand for artists in things like video games (especially with the advances they are having in graphic technology) and the movie industry.
