College Dropout vs. Late Registration

Now that Late Reg. has been out for a while, how do you think they compare and which one do you prefer?

For me, College Dropout kills Late Registration. While Late Registration has some good songs, and Kanye's flow has improved, there are a lot of songs that I feel are pretty weak. As well, IMO, the best songs on CD are stronger than the best of LR. Lastly... the guests are better on CD. I'll take Mos and Talib over The Game and Lupe whatever his name is.

Best songs on LR are better than the best on CD. Worst songs on CD are better than the worst on LR. Get it? None of em are really bad, though, they're all listenable. LR just gets a little boring in the middle.

I dunno man... I'd take Jesus Walks, 2 Words, Get 'Em High and Through the Wire over Diamonds, Gold Digger, Touch the Sky, and Addiction anyday. (Those tracks being the best of each release IMO).

I don't skip a single track on College Dropout. I pretty much hate Late Registration. I was majorly disappointed after my first complete listen. It's like Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Black Star. A lot of people think it's a classic (like me) and others were disappointed.

i pretty much agree with you on this one. cept i don't hate Late Registration. All the songs you named are the highlights- and I'll add "We Major" and "Gone" (The best track on the record IMO)

Production wise, LR is better but it suffers from one thing Dropout does not- it really starts to get boring in the middle.

and, damn ye, enough with the skits- we get it, you don't attend college.

I heard that Dre mentioned to his best friend's sister's dog that he might think about possibly getting some beats together and maybe mulling over the idea of making an album..........allegedly.

look for it as a double album packaged with "Chinese Democracy"
