Which don't delete your shit as soon as they realise it's a remix? :(

Although many people seem to dislike it, I actually favor ACIDplanet. The only real drawback (and most common criticism) I see compared to soundclick is that you have to be a registered member to download mp3's, and you can't link directly to the mp3's. Considering that registration is free, however, I pretty much chalk this up to people being lazy

While your songs must first be posted in Windows Media format for streaming, you may also make them available for download as mp3 at any bitrate you desire (as long as the file does not exceed 20 MB, which is not difficult for most songs!)

AP also looks neater and I feel it allows you to keep your songs better organized. For instance, you can have up to three artist profiles, each of them accessable from one another. I use all three: one for original works; one for various remixes; one for just Beastie mixes. In addition, you may also upload videos in multiple formats.

All in all, I think AP is vastly superior to soundclick. My links in this forum are still to soundclick though because people would rather have a direct link to the 128k mp3 than to have to go to my AP page where the same songs are posted as 160k mp3's (which I'm thinking about updating to 192k or 256K).

Having said this, if you are found by any file storage site to be in violation of copyright law, you are likely to have your files deleted if not your entire account. This is simply a risk you must be willing to take if you want to make "illicit" remixes available to the public. Concerning the B-Boys mixes however, seeing as how the pellas are now available on the site for the purpose of remixing, it seems to me that there is an implied consent to make derivitives (i.e. remixes) available to the public as long as you are not charging money. Though it is not expicitly stated on the site, the implication seems to be that you should follow the Creative Commons format of being able to distribute the remix, but to give credit to the Beastie Boys as authors of the song and not to use it for commercial purposes.

Hope this helps! :)

Yeah I'm an Acid Planet guy - I like it, easy to deal with. You just have to post your sound file as "G" in the rating system they have, anything higher like PG-14 or R can only be heard by members. (y) (y)

I have all my remixes on soundclick and not one has been deleted yet. I've been using it for about 5 months now.

Acid planet rocks (check out the link in my signiture below). I have seen nothing else that comes near it. I use Bright Skies to try and sell my stuff but to be honest I think it kind of sucks. With luck it will get better, the idea behind it is good.

same here. I think they only check when you first sign up, cause you have to wait for your band page to be activated.
