Is gonna be fuckin shit. Imagine that: fucked up lungs, fucked up bowels, fucked up bones. Unable to walk without propping yourself up, too fragile and weak to play any sports or even run for the bus.

I'm going to cap myself on my 50th birthday. (y)

My great grandfather lived until 102. I was in his 100 years party. I was 5 at the time. He would be 122 by now. I remember I was scared of him and that I cried to take all those crazy pictures at his party. :D

There's no reason to assume that old age is going to be like that. It's totally possible to avoid all the expectations of old age with a healthy lifestyle.

heh. My boyfriend feels exactly the same way about getting old. And for myself..i'd have to say the moment I have to start wearing diapers to keep from shitting my pants it's all over. At that point, I'd consider suicide (provided I don't have children and grandchildren to stick around for.) If my boyfriend and I become an old married couple and incontinent then maybe we'll drink some poisoned Kool Aid or load our pockets with rocks and walk into a river together. won't that be such sweet parting?

Word man...

Go anywhere you want in a robe and slippers - you won't even have to be an ex-mobster trying to plead insanity in court for that! you can even curse out whoever you want without fear of any consequences. people will always brush it off because you're old, or you can just pretend to not remember. being able to use the 'i don't remember' thing has got to be one of the best perks of being old.

Again, marginal if any difference between 18 and 26. 18 and 46, sure.

No. I'm a lot smarter now than I was when I was 18. You'll be smarter at 24 than you are now. The people who don't appreciate growing wiser with age are generally the same dorks who reflect on high school age as their glory days, and to me, that's pathetic.

Well I just had my second knee surgery in just under a year, and the docs told me that as well as fucked up cartilage I also have early stage arthritis in one of my knees. And at age 33.

The doc was so nonchalant about it too, I was just coming round from the anaesthetic and was a bit out of it, and after telling me what they had done in the op he just said "you're rather young to have arthritis" and then just walked away.
Now I have to wait six weeks to find out the extent of it.

Ah well, if it gets really bad I guess I could pay and get a titanium replacement:cool:

it sounds funny but i feel more of a pressure of "OMG i'm nearly in my MID twenties and i still haven't figured out what i'm going to do i'm a failure and a fat failure at that OMG i haven't taken advantage of being able to create a hot body easily at my age stop eating chips and get motivated and get a career you fucking dumbass" in my twenties.

i am looking forward to being 30 and (hopefully) having a better idea of who i am, what i want to do and where i am going to go. and you're still young enough to start again with a different route or fuck off and go travelling without consequences of etc etc etc.
