Doesn't look really ergonomic... :(
And another thing: too much iPod-Apple-style-wannabe

That controller will spell bankrupcy for Nintendo.

I don't know about whether it will take off or cause the demise of Nintendo... but it's an interesting concept either way.
My interest has been piqued.

It's going to alienate some 3rd parties, and games originally planned for the PS3, X-Box 360, and Revolution, might become just PS3 and X-box 360 games.
But at the other end of the spectrum, developers might flock to the system, because any way you look at it, this controller will allow progammers to make games that have never been attempted before.
So we'll see....oh, and apparently Nintendo is losing the "Revolution" moniker, it's going to be called something else when it launches. Too bad, "Revolution" has already stuck....

It will be compatible with the gamecube controller and if they have any sense they'll include one in the package. Preferably a wireless one.
Wireless? I'm not down with buying batteries in order to play my $300 gaming system. Now charging, like the GBA and DS, seems more feasible.
But that controller? Man... I'm guessing it'll feel right once I get my hands on it. If ergonomics was a question I would have never played the original NES. Most likely third party groups will make 'cradles' to simulate current ones. Hell, I'm positive Nintendo will have a few at launch.

But yes, I assumed it would be some sort of rechargable thing.
It just hit me, will people start losing their controllers between the couch cushions now?

Nintendo has stated that the Revolution will be the cheapest of the three new systems. This would probably put it in the same price range as the GameCube was in when it launched.....$200-$250.
Seriously though, I'd take a chord over draining an 8 pack of Duracells every 2 months, or less.
Plus there's going to be a 'standard' controller released to accomodate 3rd party titles. It wouldn't make sense for them to mention that and take attention off of this new gizmo or motion sensors.

I think it should at least be mentioned to reassure people but of course you should focus on what sets you apart from the others. Nobody really gives a shit about processing power, polygon count and texture resolution (apart from a mate of mine but he hates nintendo anyway ;) ). You need to be innovative in order to make it in the business. I get the impression that most of what sony and microsoft are doing is fluffing up their reputation more than innovating.
