I have been thinking about relocating (again) and I have some job opportunities in both countries... and in UK, but I know how the following works there so I don't need to know:

how much you pay income tax/social security/etc from your salary?

I need a TOTAL number. like, if you make 2000e/month, HOW much will be on your bank account after the Big Brother takes its share(s)?

can any Dutch person explain me this (http://www.taxci.nl/read/Dutch_tax_rates_2005_individua?submenu=220)? especially the "combined rates 2005"-part.

all input much much appreciated (y)

Stop movin' around.

I haven't actually figured out what nationality you are yet and it's bugging me enough already without you galavanting off round yet more countries.

Asshat.

hahaha (y)

actually, man, it's not just fun moving around because the balance on your account tells you to

I had a perfectly safe, good life in FINLAND (that's where I'm from, asshat), but I thought a wee adventure will do nicely

it does, but looking for work/making big decisions every 6-7 months kind of sucks

HAHAHHAA

Whitesnake, please, that's for gay people who don't know they're gay yet

but I am just listening to Dio-era Black Sabbath and that's kind of the same day & age than Whitesnake...

...so yeah, most likely I'm down that road.

wait?

i dont know, but in my first 3 months of pay in my first job i got emergency taxed 50 pounds each time, and when i go to claim it back, the inland revenue say 'we dont owe you anything, but thanks for filling out a p50!'

off the top of my mashed head, the income tax in ireland works like this..

you pay a higher rate the more you earn. so i think the bottom level is 20%, and that covers a certain tax bracket, then if you moved into a higher tax bracket you pay more. you also get a tax free allowance, like, the cant touch x amount of your salary and shit

sorry about the vagueness, my head is goosed

umm ok (y)

hey, Roosta, thanks for the only reasonable input anyway. I guess I'm better off trying to use the internet... I just thought there'd be more people who actually pay taxes in here... should've known better. bunch of free-loading hippies and 20-somethings who still live with their parents... mumble... mumble... where's that short guy, Waltraud or something? he sold hot dogs in Holland or something? he must know something right?

and Commie, Berlin is better than Germany. consider that when making a move. (y)

Berlin is a big, loud and chaotic mutt. takes one to like one.

I love the cinemas here for having a culture called "movie day", which basically means mon/tue/wed is cheap tickets to all films (y)

and the food, drink, the price of eating a quality meal & having a wee coctail (y)

and bicycling here is great (y)

Ireland (Dublin specifically) is a rip-off

Roosta says Dublin is a rip-off and I just learned you can go to the cinema AS MUCH AS YOU WANT FOR 17.50 EUROS/MONTH THERE!!! (!) (!) (!)
