I ran a search and didn't find anything about this, so sorry if it's already been mentioned. There was a dope interview with Rick Rubin in Rolling Stone this month that mentions some cool Beastie tidbits. I won't ruin them by mentioning them, but it's totally worth checking out. Okay. I'll mention one.....apparently the first time Rick went to go meet the Chili Peppers he brought the Beasties along with him. Flea says it was kind of weird because the Beasties had real competitive edge to them and were picking up the chili peppers' instruments and playing them. It didn't give a year, but I'm pretty sure it was between like 87 and 89. There's more stuff along these lines in the article. Good shit.

i got it a while ago cuz i have a subscription..but on the magazine it says sept.22...so maybe it is on newsstands then?

I just found that issue in my gigantic pile of mail that accumulated while I was gone. I haven't read the article yet, but I looked to see how long it was. It's frickin' 7 full pages with photos, including one of the Beastie Boys. I will try to scan and post the article tomorrow.
