So your second favorite is on it's way? Well, congrats to you and your better half, deude. If it's a boy you should name him Rolex and...hmmm, perhaps Champagne if it' a girl.

huzzah! i feel every kid should have a sibling. even if they hate each other. at least it's some kind of interpersonal relationship

You are a true marsdaddy. Babies are such a nice way to start people.

AC/DC made me think that you should make the baby a t-shirt and put AB/CD on the front.

That shirt would rule all.

Congrats M.Diddy

I still think my buddy's idea for a "Someone Else's Problem" baby shirt is just the best. :D

I can't wait to find out what our bean is. I have my 12 week scan tomorrow but they say that's too early to tell reliably if at all, so I'll have to wait for the 20 week. :( I want to know now! NOW!

A guy I work with fathered a child with his sister's (female) partner. I didn't ask any of the gory details about how exactly they accomplished this (non of my business, I figured). But the lesbian couple, they wanted the child to be as much genetically both of them as possible, so this seems to have worked out for them.

That's awesome (y) I'd love to have a kid that was combined with both my genetics and my gf's...But that would never happen...Getting my hopes up there haha. Anyone else heard of any lesbian/gay couples that somehow get to mother/father a child that's practically their own?... Just curious.

Those ultrasounds are amazing nowadays. I have a friend at work whose wife is having twin girls. You can see their faces and everything so clearly.
Congrats again, Michael! Are you gonna name this one after yourself?

I'm jealous! I'm so ready for a baby, but I wanna wait at least one year after I'm married. (y)

I didn't have a preference, honestly. A girl or another boy will be an "experience" I'm sure.

We don't really have a name yet. Mrs. marsdaddy is switching between a few. I have my favorite, but I'm waiting until the final name stage to weigh in.

The scans usually can tell gender around 18 weeks. mrs. peachy, something I find interesting is to go to babycenter.com -- probably a uk version, too -- and follow the progress of the baby. Congrats to you, too!

There are plenty of lesbian couples that have babies. Often they have one partner's egg inseminated in the other partner -- both of your DNA. Wait, I've been gone a while -- is this person an alias?

Glad to hear it. Mr.p and I got the results back for the blood test that screens for spina bifida and Downs last night - I'd kind of pushed it to the back of my mind and just kept thinking "it will all be fine, the little bean is just fine" but I tell you it was still a huge relief to open that envelope and get back the 'screening negative - you are classified as low-risk' letter.

Those tests can be scary, but from what I understand your health system is less scary than ours. Glad everything came back well. I really do believe you have to trust your gut.

I like "the little bean". Keep us posted on your progress. Are you going to find out gender or wait until the bean is born? I hope you're feeling well.
