I got my ears peirced... um.. 4 weeks ago tomorrow, and i dont know if i can change them yet or not. the chart said four weeks for studs - but the lady said 8 weeks. I cant wait that long! I havent turned them or cleaned them in like a week, and they havent been hurting or gotten infected - and i can turn them with ease, they dont stick.

So should I/can I take them out yet?

Cartiledge is sore/you can't sleep on that ear for probably a month and a half. I heard it's different for each person. My actual piercing didn't hurt, some people pass out from the pain. Who knows?

Anyways, it should be okay to change them. If you soak your new posts in alcohol, and take out your old ones and put the new ones in, that's fine. The holes won't close up in the 30 seconds you have 'em out. :)

Thats what I was thinking - but I bought all these cute earrings last night at the mall and my grandma says that was a mistake because the fake earrings will hurt my ears.

Are they nickel-plated or something? Some people are more sensitive to other metals. My friend is allergic, and she can only have stainless steel posts.

when you first get your ears pierced, the first set of changed earrings should be a metal that wont give you an allergic reaction, like titanium, or 18k gold, or really really really good silver. otherwise, it's better to wait longer until changing it.

but also, if you wear some silly cheap earrings for just a few hours, then you clean and put back the piercing studs for the rest of the time, it should be ok.

I just bought some earrings form Claire's and Hot Topic - Their not gold or anything like that, Infact I dont know what they are. But like I said, its been 4 weeks. i should be able to change them by now.

I just wanna wear this new pair that I got tomorrow at school - i'll probabley be there for 11 or so hours... is that too long?

If you find your new earrings irritating paint them (the part that goes through the hole) with colourless nail varnish!

And your ears won't fall off for wearing them for that short a while, they could get itchy, but I don't think you need to worry if you've kept the piercings and earrings clean.

shit from Claire's will most definitely irritate your ears if you just pierced them. Hot Topic too. go with the stuff that says "for sensitive ears" for the first few months.

Everyone's different, but the first time I got my ears pierced, I tried out some cheap earrings and it really fucked up my ear lobes. I finally had to let the holes seal up and start over with new holes. Next time, I wore nothing but gold for a long, long time. I can wear sterling silver now, but I still can't wear cheap shit without major itching.
