Awesome. :D
I'll miss the guy. And I think all his posts are deleted, too? Am I right?
Ah, this will be a sweet, sweet political victory. :)

Unfortunately, the deletion of his posts make it impossible to hunt down precisely what happened.

I heard he was banned through the grapevine, and wanted to see for myself. Therefore, not a coincidence.

Wonder what he was banned for in the end.
I might actually miss him... Sort of in the same way you miss a particularly painful bruise or ache. While it's there you wonder what it felt like not having it but when it's gone you are overwhelmed by it's absence.
Or I might not.

No-one seems to know precisely what finally got him the finger... Anyone know what line he crossed?

Yesterday he posted a cut and paste job about New Orleans. The content of it was quite racist i.e. it suggested that black families in New Orleans were suffering because they were lazy and stupid,
I posted a reply to the effectof "This is pretty racist - probably should be banned for this" - and then the next morning he was gone.
So if it was this thread that did it I want to claim an assist on the banning - Oh Yea!

Last night sisko posted yet another cut-and-paste job, about the supposedly skewed way the media portrayed the damage and destruction of Hurrican Katrina (i.e. attention focused on NOLA, but none towards Alabama and Mississippi, how most people who were interviewed are black, lamenting the lack of white people, etc.).
The piece was VERY borderline racist (if not outright racist) and I brought up whether or not this is grounds for gmsisko being banned.
Before I know it, I wake up and Rosie Cotton tells me that he is banned and I can't find a sisko post in site.
So that's my best guess...

You can see the same thing that he posted in the first post here (http://www.rleeermey.org/viewtopic.php?t=5661).
I find it a shame that this forum couldn't simply muster the discipline to ignore him. Or at the very least, he could have been banned for something non-ideological, like repeatedly trying to support his political arguments by creating aliases.

And being constantly abusive, posting inflammatory threads (IE naming people in the title with the sole intent of goading them into a flamewar), disrupting communications, etc.
Personally, I'd've preferred it if he had been delivered an ultimatum first: Either construct logical argument with factual objective evidence, or get banned.
Same result, and he wouldn't've been able to put it down to "the liberal media" killing freedom of speech.

Yes, directly. I couldn't search for his threads because the search option is only available to registered users. Of course, I didn't know all the incriminating posts were wiped until *after* my searches proved fruitless.

Well, I may have something to do with it also. I was offended by his C&P job yesterday, including the source of it of which he should have identified, so I complained on him. That's the only time I have complained on him. I really didn't expect him to get banned over it.
BTW, welcome back Ace.

When I first read sisko's post I thought it was over the top. Very bad satire.
This brings up a good question though. I can see how most here view his banning as a politcal victory. But, if eveyone who posts here had the same view, wouldn't that make this message board a boring place to visit?

I enjoy differing views, but when he simply acts as a billboard for right wing zealot bloggers it's not really an opinion. it's just spam.

You don't often find even the very left-wing people here posting every single piece of spam that shows up in their inbox. sisko never once constructed a single original thought or opinion of his own - I'd say it's probable that he never had one. He simply threw mounds of shit against the wall and waited to see what would stick. Never would he support it or counter the often well-thought-out responses to his drivel.
He was the only person I've ever put on my ignore list. I'm glad he's gone.

Oh Yeah, DynOmite! Thanks (http://www.noplacelikeoz.com/oz-dingdongwitch.wav) (y)
I do think we'll find plenty to bitch about w/o sisko, he was MIA for a few months on this forum and we had multiple page threads with real arguments with actual researched facts.
I'll miss him a bit, but to be completely honest, how much of that stuff could anybody read? The novelty fades extremely quick. I never put him on ignore, my functioning brain would edit him out the second his name was attached to anything.

Seriously. It's not a "political victory," as you put it, K-nowledge, unless you're actually giving sisko the same ranking as the rest of you Republicans (which I would highly suggest you don't).
It's a victory over having to deal with idiocy. I know plenty of Republicans who are not idiots; I may disagree with just about everything they have to say, but it's because I have a different world view from them. I have different ideas, morals, priorities, whatever. I'm willing to debate ideas, open up my mind to new ideas, and hopefully open up their minds too. I just don't want to debate with someone who is a living catch-phrase for the right wing, someone who refuses to listen to other people's sides, sticks his fingers in his ears and screams as loud as he can when confronted with reason.
And I'm not being biased on this, there really were quite a few things that were fact that he refused to listen to, even when proven to him that they were fact. That's not only pigheaded and ignorant, it's just plain idiocy, which I don't want to tolerate.

Excellent point. The "political victory" came from the thread starter(Droppin...) and I just used it to make my point. Sisko got what he deserved in my point of view. "Conflicting views welcome, intolerance not tolerated."

By "political victory" I meant a victory for this political forum in that we can have intelligent discourse. Nothing to do with ideologies.
Sorry if it came off different.

I forget the name of the alias he was using. That's grounds for banning.
I didn't see his recent stuff but I can see BBMB wanting to protect racist speech.
In the next purge, my post count will sink because I did respond to a lot of his now-deleted threads. Sorry if it made people mad, but I enjoyed his stuff. I've always wanted to know who all the dittos are and it was interesting to see one in action.
He bothered me less than some other members--probably because he didn't write his own stuff so he had no tone to irritiate me.

I didn't know he was using an alias but if that was the reason for him getting banned it should be banned now as well.
As far as his threads go there was never any sort of discussion going on, he rarely even replied to the comments in his thread. When he did it was nothing more than another copy/paste with the words "thanks for playing", "inchwhipper" or even "clintax" written in seemingly random order. I seriously can't remember any thread in which he added something other than more right wing rhetoric.
