Even if they had good times together, he can still regret it. I had great times with this guy I "loved" in high school (puppy love), and I regret loving him and meeting him and all that because the pain it caused me wasn't worth the good times we had.

I think "I regret loving you" is a pretty nice "fuck you" in the long run. Hell, she tore his heart out and stomped it to shit, it's the very least she deserves.

I think I was able to stay friends with one ex for a few years after we split up because we were absolutely committed to our kid. Sadly, that commitment faded and so did the relationship between us.
