Hello all!
I don't know about anybody other than me but the songs i love the most from hello nasty are the laid back tunes. I have been a "boys" fan from the begining. LiC 2 ill was the bomb back in the day but the music i love the most are the laid back songs. (I don't know, sneaking out of the hospital etc.). The song "i don't know" is my fav song period! Its amazing how u change with age. I must say i cant get enough of those tunes. Is there music out there like "I don't know"? I wish I had a whole cd of songs like that. I have turned beastie boys on to much older people cause of the hello nasty cd. Of corse they dont like the rap tracks, (but who cares) but they are crazy about the jazz jam session and songs like "i don't know". I have found a whole new love for "the boys". Their music has no boundries and i love the jazz theme they have picked up in their music..If somebody knows of more songs like those please let me know...
Thanks,
James Gang

Anybody else feel that way? Anybody else love the jazzy tracks? I have skipped lp's over the years (from lic 2 ill to present as taste 4 music changes...comes with age....) and thought i would take a step back so to speak and listen to groups i did as a teenager (Which is hard to do today. Not many groups last as long as the beastie boys have), and get latest lp (actually cd). I really like the way they keep the old school feel but was amazed by how far they had advanced as musicians. I am the kind of person that has hard rock, pop, classical, rap, r&b, bluegrass, gospel (there are some great gospel tracks out there whether u "believe" or not, still some great music) arabic, etc in my collection. I am a music lover period!

I guess what im asking is do alot of people feel like I do?

At first I founbd Hello Nasty too different for me, but I warmed to it as listened to it more. I can seriously not choose a favourite album out of them all. They are all different styles, but still equally as cool as the one b4/after.

Yeah I love the mellow stuff on Hello Nasty.

the genral variety across all their music is what I love full stop, but yeah those chilled cuts are certainly nice.

Twenty Questions is probs my most listened to one though, and that didn't make Hello Nasty, which by the way, is another fucking top record (y)

My most played mellow song is probably ' I don't know'. It is a gr8 track off a gr8 album.

It's a funny thing about HN. When I listen to it I either listen to the laid back stuff or the the other, but never at the same time.

I feel something different when I listen to Hello Nasty. When I listen to it from the begginnig to the end there's a particular moment in the album that makes me feel very calm every time. This moment starts with Sneaking Out The Hospital and ends with I Dont Know. This sequence of songs makes me me feel very comfortable and tranquil. Thats one of the reasons why Hello Nasty is the album that I play on my radio when I go to bed.... :)

Song for junior is just awesome

Who else could put the best hip hop and excellent instrumentals together! On one album!!!
Beasties are the top of every music genre they try

I started to like jazz when i was 12. Is that normal!!??

But mainly I listen hip hop, so im not really that huge-15-year-old-listening-jazz-whaaa??-freakin weirdo :D

Get some Check Your Head and Ill Communication for more instrumentals, if you don't have it already

When I first heard Hello Nasty, I wasn't too high on it, but I've been listening to it alot more lately, and I'm really digging it! I'm surprised at how much I like this album. I don't think it's a classic, but it's certainly not a sign that the Beastie Boys have "lost it" like I heard some people say back in '98.
