Why can't we vote with ink on our fingers?

Jimmy Carter's talking about a voter ID card. Why don't we just get ink on our finger after we vote or a stamp so we don't vote twice? Fair is fair.

Why don't we get some sort of chip implanted in our thumbs? That'd be much easier for voting, and only the people who really cared about democracy and voting would be the ones crazy enough to do it.

Or have only people who'd be willing to sleep with Babs Bush or Dick Cheney. Then only the Republicans would vote, but at least they'd deserve the election victory.
