The Grandmaster is the highest level one can reach in chess, and this album is a tribute to each of these artists' fascination with the game.
A nice appearance from Masta Killa and RZA, and this shit comes off like Liquid Swords part 2.
Awesome.

It's an album, and a very ill one at that.
I'll be scooping it late October.
Muggs kind of does an impression of RZA on the beats, but adds his own spaced out elements to it. His best since III.
GZA just chills, making people believe M.C'ing is easy.
In it for the art, not the charts. (y)

wutangcorp has a couple of the tracks. the beats are almost cypress hill 4-ish... they're almost pretty good. he'll get back to that point eventually, i think, but not yet.

Some of them are fucking good. It's definitely not music to dance to.

well yeah, same with all of cypress hill's catalogue.but yeah, they sound alright, and gza's brilliant on them, but honestly most people could still make better beats than that.

It's more fun than 'Be'.
It's probably just because it brings together two of my favourite artists as a young un.

I realize I'm resurrecting a dead thread, but damn if this album isn't the sickest thing I've heard in a long time. GZA's rap style is unlike any other rapper I've heard - his flow is concise and articulate, his wordplay is acrobatic but not ostentatious, and his storytelling is suspenseful but not obnoxious. Muggs is on point as well. I know I'm behind the times here, but this shit is worth copping.
