I see John Cleese plays in it. That alone makes it worth getting it. (y)

well?
I read that as "what force is instigating the chronological end of the universe"...
I was expecting eschatology...
What is beyond the edge of the universe? Depends in what direction. By definition, nothing as the universe is all encompassing. Infact there is not even "space" beyond the edge of the universe, and thus there can be no time for that "region" (or non-region) to exist in.
However, modern string theories say that there are many levels or shades of the universe (parts of the multiverse) which "overlap".
IE they are in parrallel, and some are "rolled up" and some are not. So, what is "beside" the universe? Another one that is a bit different.
Some theories (super-gravitation, I believe) state that gravity is such a weak force because its effect is originating in another universe. This is why the other forces (such as magnetism) are much more powerful. You can lift a metal pin with a small magnet, despite the much more massive earth pulling it earthward with gravity.

Nothing can be beyond the universe or before the universe because the universe encompases all space and time.It is common to think of the big bang as an explosion that causes matter to spread through space but in fact its more the case that matter remains more or less still (simplification) and its space that expands. Thats why the cosmic radiation of the big bang does not have a point of origin but instead is spread evenly through space.
Or your question could mean what will cause the end of the universe?
Potentially total collapse/big crunch? Or maybe someone will switch off the computer simulation we live in and that will be it?
Was thinking today about Quantum Mechanics and the interpretation of the wavefunction. Seems to me if you wanted to create a virtual universe in a machine without having to model each particles position exactly - Schrodingers wavefunction might be the ideal way to do it and save processing power. A simplification of the idea but its a good one for getting stoned to I guess.
dunno...quit bugging me

A theory put forward in the rather good "Singularity" fiction "The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect"
