Poll's coming
When greeting friends, do you exchange handshakes? What sort?
Traditional, just your everyday handshake
Arm-wrestly, an arm-wrestle type grab
Respek Knuckles, speaks for itself
High Five, what are you gay?
Custom, do you have some custom funky handshake thing you do with your mates?
Lately I've been switching it up on people, going the wrestle when they call a traditional
with my mates, it's traditional.
when i'm/we're drunk, it's knuckles and arm-wrestle styles and shit.

I can't remember when I last shook hands with someone.
I see guys doing that thing where they half-box each other in the stomach. I stifle a laugh and get glassy-eyed when they do that.
Some guys do that thing where they bump opposite shoulders and pat each other very briskly on the back. Usually no more than three brisk pats. That should maybe be a selection in your poll--that's what I see guys doing the most.

respect knuckles is good cos you lower the risk of germ spreading
never shake hands cos you never know if that person has gone for a toilet visit and forgotten to wash their hands

I only shake hands with people I'm meeting for the first time. If it's a friend they get a hug or a half hug

I very rarely shake hands with people.
Only ones I've done it is with is (new) customers and business people, and the boys in BRMC (for some reason it's easier for me to talk to them when I've shook hands with them, and it goes with other bands as well). When I meet my friends, with the really good ones it's big hugs, with my aunt it's continental style, airkisses on the cheek, some might get a weak hug, some nothing, depending how close they are and if we've missed each other.

i just put mine one, so good to get out of those jeans and tight shoes and get the ugg boots and trackies on :D (y)
jeans are THE worst shit to sleep in.
like when you crash at a mate's house after a piss up and you wake up and they're up to your knees and you feel seedy as shit. (n)

oh yeah. hate that. They're not really particularly comfortable generally. I'm not even sure why I wear them now that I think about it. I think I feel socially pressured into wearing them. But thats a whole new thread if you wanna start it, I cbf

You forgot to add the handshake-hug combo. Unless that falls under the arm-wrestling pick.

so what do you call it when a guy takes your hand (a ladies hand) and acts like he is going to kiss it (ya know like the top of your hand) but kisses his own hand???????
what is that? do any of you guys do that? i've had this happen to me a few time in the past week! should i be happy that i dont have their germs on me or insulted that they would rather kiss their own hand?
Maybe they kiss the wrong hand because they're so drunk?

yeah! maybe i'm reading too much into it!
I am traditional handshake guy although I give the pound to my black friends to be down. I also greet them with-- asalamalakum to you my brother.
I read that Donald Trump will not shake hands because he is a germaphobe. Trump has decided to forego the traditional handshake and greet people by waving with his hair.

Yeah handshakes are good, but sometimes you gotta go the semi hug, pat on the back thing. Other times, I dunno, not really an arm wrestle, just a firm squeeze or one of those special handshakes every now and again. Never really thought about it before, you do something different for every person i guess.

Traditional handshake is my game. If it's a good friend that handshake becomes a hug of doomness.

Person I'm meeting for first time (male/female): traditonal handshake (firm)
Brother/Close friend (male): half hug/arm wrestles shake
Certain male friends: exclusive shakes/pounds
Close friend (female): hug with slight grope
Relative (male): traditional handshake followed by back patting/half hugs/looking goods
Relative (female): hug sans grope

Yeah I think that goes under arm-wrestle, although to be honest I don't really do that myself and neither do any of my mates. My best mate it's nothing, a quick gday and whatever. But I have other mates and mates of mates, who I see occasionally and when I greet them we'll usually exchange a handshake of some sorts. That's when I'm switching it up to the wrestle. I wouldn't do that at work or anything, although my boss does shake with a wrestle
