A lot of people are getting uptight about the beasties releasing Solid Gold Hits but there are tons of my favorite artists who have released greatest hits packages or single's packages here is a list
Public Enemy
De La Soul
Tribe Called Quest
Sugar Hill Gang
Pharcyde
Run Dmc
Soundgarden
Pearl Jam
The Beatles
Pink Floyd
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Stone Temple Pilots
Nirvana
311
Billy Joel
Bob Dylan
Johnny Cash
Collective Soul
House of Pain
all these artists have greatest hits packages
so you can’t front on the beasties
can I still front on Billy Joel though? please?

maybe you should've added this to whichever thread you saw people getting uptight about the solid gold hits. but anyway if people are getting uptight its directed at the label not the band cuz like yauch said it was the label that wanted the hits cd and initially he wasnt too thrilled about it.
it was the same situation for a handful of the bands you listed, i would bet that it was the same for all of them but i'm not positive. the pearl jam greatest hits was the label that wanted it, tribe called quest were mad that a greatest hits was released, and so on.
