View Full Version : Will Scenario ever be released?
Since no one has this and it appeared in Pump Up The Volume it has attained legendary status... will the Holy Grail of all Beastie Boys tracks ever be released? Or would it be released to a major disapointment because the song is subpar?
It seems like this is one song that will stay in the vaults forever, if it even still exists and isn't in some ruined piece of tape. However, a limited release of this gem, maybe even as a charity fund raiser... could energize Beastie fans of all ages. Could it be done? Should it be done? Will it be done?

Erm..your posts confused me. You could be right with what you're saying, but i've had a song called the Scenario down for ages, nice (y)

I like that song alot. It's pretty simple, but and I think when I first heard it I was a tad skeptical over the echo effect, but I really like it. The Beasties claimed once in an interview I believe (pre-Paul's boutique) that it was their best song...serious or not it has a quality to it. Vague

I can't imagine it getting released because the Beasties have changed so much. At the time it was a goof just like everything else they were doing. But since then they sort of figured out that what's a goof to them is serious to other people. It like if I say "hey, its cool beat-up homeless people!" and I'm just kidding, but then 1,000,000 frat boys don't get it and next thing you know you've got a 1,000,000 dead homeless people. So, yeah, I just don't see the Beasties releasing Scenio or I'm Down because they don't put shit like that out anymore for obvious reasons.

yeah i can't imagine scenario being released. the beasties have worked for the past what? like 12-15 dispelling the whole attitude created by LTI and fight for your right. the last thing they'll do is release a song with the lines "smokin' my crack, sayin' my rhymes" and who could forget this one "threw the mattress in her fuckin' face" and also "shot homeboy in his motherfuckin' face."
this probably won't be released. it's good though. i still listen to it.

It has been released on Original ILL (http://www.mp3.com/albums/468129/summary.html).
I bought this CD bootleg back before internet days. The CD has a black and white picture of a naked girl on it. It has some good unheard stuff like I'm Down (a beatles cover) and also a different version of Fight for your Right with additional lyrics, Rhymin and Stealin (smoke crack version), and of course Scenario! Who wants to buy it from me???

What I wanna know is why is it a B-Side of Helly Nasty on BeastieMania ? It was released in 94.
Obviously I'm out of it... what's The Hub? Link anyone?

Even though that particular version was recorded in 94, Intergalactic is on Hello Nasty. Not only that, but the recording didn't surface until after Hello Nasty dropped.
I'd be interested in finding out where that recording came from though. Are there more? Like I said, that beat is on some jazzy dope early 90's style and it make sense that they did it in 04 because it sounds like something that would have come out on Ill Com. The Hello Nasty version is dope in its own right but its way different.

That version should be listed as a B-side to Ill Communication, not Hello Nasty.

Yeah it wasnt really a b-side on anything. It was more of like an "Unreleased Track". But yeah if anything it should be an Ill Communicaion B-Side I think.
