I'm watching the extremely cool PBS Martin Scorsese "No Direction Home" show and everytime they think they have Bob Dylan pegged, he comes on and says they're wrong, he doesn't have any deliberate formula to writing what turns out to be some of the most prolific music ever written.

he just likes to sing and stuff.

I'm convinced Dylan is the Forrest Gump of music.

to me he is more like "The Dude" from "The Big Lebowski"

"he's the man for his time and place..."

part 2 airs tonight

also, the second in 'the hip hop years' series was on. it was also good again, though not as good as yesterdays south bronx documentary.

damn and damn.

i missed part 2 of the dylan thing and i would've liked to see the south bronx documentary. fuck.

dylan does seem like one of those. not at all the type of guy i thought he was.

you can't go wrong when one of America's finest filmmakers gets one of America's finest songwriters to open up on camera and share explicit details of his life...

His plain sense held more water in the toes of his feet than many conscousness's have in their whole dam body.
Until one thirsts for intelligence like one who is drowning would thirst for air, one will never realize enough to be in tune with true biorhythms...
-Version of Socrates (sorry I just threw that in)

"Get Up Stand Up" didn't even have To The Five Boroughs on it. In fact, it left out more than the show was really even worth. Chuck D sporting a Phat Farm shirt like it validates that anyone can be as filthy rich and commited to corruption as their feign suppressors. Yauch did get the last quote at the end.. but damn.

I just watched Lindsey Buckingham w/ Stevie Nicks on Sound Stage again. Very good, very good. Grrrrrreat!!!

"The Sixties" was just difficult to see... seeing that after more than 40 years we still haven't really gotten it together at all... It's simple character and motive people. Get it right... how many times does it have to be... bonafied. Damn.
