the B.Q.E ...The Brooklyn Queens Expressway. (Also a highway, gets you to most places in Brooklyn and into Manhattan.)

BVD (the underwear brand) also made nylon t-shirts that b-boys came to wear in the early-to-mid 80's. The doo-rags made from the same material were good for headspins, the shirts gave you a nice glide for backspins and windmills. They were tight-fitting and looked kinda cool too. VIM is the first big store chain that was known to carry hiphop gear like colored Lee jeans and Adidas shelltoes. The most popular location was on Jamaica Avenue in Queens, not far from LL Cool J and RunDMC's birthplaces. That was where you went to get all that stuff in the early 80's.
