In case you aren't familiar with theoriginal (http://www.rhino.com/store/ProductDetail.lasso?Number=75466) box sets (http://www.rhino.com/store/ProductDetail.lasso?Number=76787), Nuggets is a collection of obscure (but damn good) '60s garage and psychedelia. They released two sets, one focusing on the American bands, and the latter focusing on British (and other countries) bands.

Now they've gone all-out with a THIRD set. This time featuring acts from... get this, 1976 to 1995??? I'm intrigued. I wonder if it's any good?

Thoughts? You think it's worth getting? I still need to pop in Nuggets II (which I recently acquired)...

So many bands starting with "The" that I laughed a little. That's my review.

Some really cool bands on that compilation, it's bound to please. I have several of those bands albums, Nomads, Plasticland, Fuzztones, The Dukes Of Stratosphear (which is actually XTC ain't it) and they are all great bands....but the song selection isn't some of their best songs...odd. I would definately buy this if you have never heard or own any of these bands.

This stuff is prolly going to become popular someday. I've always loved the grungy stoned out drooling electric lime acid saliva under a blacklight type of sound.

The Lyres have a song on there, I was a Lyres disciple for a spell, they can crankout a pretty intense cover song.

Enjoy.

Quickly scanning the tracklist, I only have albums from The Cramps. There's bands here and there whose names sound familiar, but I can't say I'm acquainted with them.

My dad does have a Church album though. (y)

Nevertheless, I think I will get this box set within the next month. :)
