Considering the band actual situation do you think they still want to make hardcore music?? I prefer to believe they will someday release some hardcore stuff. But this is kind of an optimistic thought. What you think?

Do you think they get together and say: "Let's make some funk!"?

I always preferred the idea that they just made music. If it was funky, then so be it.

I'm hoping they'll concentrate their efforts on some Classical compositions. Or I could go for some Salsa/Caribbean flavor.

I always yearned for some post modern fashion rock.

Seriously.

hardcore as in punk....yes, but maybe just a few songs here and there like ILL COMM, CYH. i wouldnt be suprised....afterall it was there original roots.

you think Adrock,.mikeD's vocals can still take it. as far as touring ?

I dont think it would. I couldnt imagine adrock doing 'live at pj's' again with the energy they had back in the 92 concerts

i think they could still perform their hardcore live, even at this age or even older.

Ive seen a reunion concert a few months back of a dutch band called Larm, these guys are almost 50 and still rock, check this clip (http://www.trashfest.nl/media_larm.asp)

I think they could do hardcore with mike on the mic. He did some killer hardcore stuff live back in 98-99 live.

With Adrock on the mic, I think it would sound diffrent. Gratitude and Sabotage live in 2004 sounded much diffrent than it did back in 94.

I loved Mike D's solos back in the hello nasty concerts: 'I cant think straight, time for livin, remote control, i wanna ride my bike, BEASTIE and Egg Raid on Mojo'

I feel those were the best parts of those concerts

'Mike get on the mic and bust your fuckin skills'

Crap? No man, I gotta disagree with ya

I can see you're not into hardcore. But say that their hardcore stuff is crap its kinda ignorant even for someone who doesnt like hardcore.

And for those who said they dont have the same energy that thay had in 92 or 94, well, you're. They probably dont have the same energy but they still have energy and I will always have. If they still kick ass in hip hop they still kick ass in hardcore.

Hardcore is really more a state of mind than a genre of music. In my experience, I have found people with hardcore mentalities never lose that way of thinking. So, yeah, I believe (and hope) they will produce some more hardcore songs.

Thats right (y)

This state of mind you're talking about they will never lose. Cause thats where the Beastie Boys (Boys Entering Anarchistic States Towards Internal Excellence remember???) began. They will never lose their roots.

I'd like an all instruments album, with leanings toward early Zeppelin and Bad Brains influences, with a splash of James Taylor thrown in for good measure.

For real. I don't care if they never make another hip-hop song. Nothing they do in that genre could outdo the cache they have now.

I hope that the next album has a bit of everything in it, a bit of hip hop, bit of hardcore etc, infact, they should really call solid gold hits something like 24 years of the Beasties (i know its a crap title) and have different sections in time on it, like a section of LTI years, section of Pauls Botique years etc.
