I've never like Malnati's. I worked for this one company and the owner would buy a shitload of pizza every Friday. Yay, right? No, sir. It was always Lou Malnati's.

Skinny, the best pizza in the city is Giordano's, Chicago's Pizza and Barry's Spot. Chicago's Pizza is on Sheffield about three or four blocks south of Belmont. Open til 5 am. Get the stuffed. It's the shit. Barry's Spot is way up north in Edgewater/Rogers Park but I forget exactly where. I haven't been there in about 12 years but I remember their pizza was butter. And there are Giordano's every-fucking-where.

I hate Lous and Giordiano's. Go to Mangia's on Belmont and Oak Park. Thats some good pizza!

This isn't a pizza pissing contest. I'm just givin' a shout out to Chicago from Pittsburgh. Until those other companies are able to overnight me deliciousness, I'm sold on Lou's. respek.

If you like that little sample they sent you in the mail then you would absolute love the annual festival they have every year downtown in Grant Park called The Taste of Chicago. It's a week and a half long food fiesta with restaurants from all over the city setting up shop. It draws millions every year. It's fucking huge. LL Cool J and Santana, among a shitload of other big names, were there this past summer performed this past summer. It's sheer bliss. Lotsa food and lotsa beer.

One drawback, though. Too fucking crowded. I haven't been in the last five years for that very reason.

I KNOW!!! I opened the RedEye the other day and when I got to that page you were the first person I saw. I was like, "Oh, shit, that's Nat!!"

I started a thread about it but it got kinda fucked up. I was gonna post the pix but I went to RedEye.com. I couldn't find shit. It didn't occur to me that I had to go to Metromix.com. Then I came across your 'Vote For Me' thread and you already had the pix posted so I requested an admin to delete the thread.

But in it I said congratulations on being famous, girlie. I think the acutal line I typed was: A Sweathog, one of our own, has achieved greatness, people. (Or something similar to greatness.) ;)

I was just thinking about Mangia's last week. That's where we used to go when I lived at Harlem & Irving. My favorite is the Margarita at Caponies at Harlem & Addison.

The Taste of Chicago is a miserable experience, the last time I went it took me three hours to get home on what should have been a 20 minute train ride.

I can't believe you know Mangia's! Thats awesome...that place is a whole in the wall.

I love Caponie's calzone's...their margarita is great as well...the thin crust and garlic is amazing.
