and then you realize it's gonna be the worst thing to do and you can't stop it. You gotta keep doing it. I thought I didn't have many things, but it turns out I do. I went to the apartment today and we took a bunch of things there, but I still got so much more.

Oak, this is just a silly note for the people who have my address, forget about it, I'm moving tomorrow!

Sorry about the unconvenient post.:D:o

You never realize how much shit you've accumulated until you try to box it up. You wind up standing there with 86 boxes stacked from floor to ceiling.....and that's only two rooms worth of shit!!!

I hate moving.

We moved like 10 times in 12 years or something...so I can sympathise. The thing is we've been at our current house for like 7 years and we still have stuff that we haven't taken out of boxes in the garage because theres just too much crap built up.

I have moved from the midwest to Olympia, WA, then to Eugene, Oregon - then to Bend Oregon, then to Portland Oregon, then the coast of Oregon and next, back to Portland -- then, to Michigan, then to Northern Virginia, then to West Virginia, then Michigan and just recently into a new apt here in MI. It is annoying and I always seem to lose something or break something in the move. I still dont really know where I will settle for good. I think I am just to free spirited to decide. Its fucking costly though -- deposits and crap.
Anyways.................

I actually quite like moving. I guess I'm semi-nomadic. :o

Moving from place to place isn't the problem. I think a change of scenery is always nice. It's the 'dragging all my shit with me' part that gets under my skin.

i just moved from the Upper East Side to Washington Heights this weekend.

all my shit is moved in, but its all in boxes...

it was hell moving, we were all working around the move, with little sleep and we had to be out of there by friday afternoon, then we had to clean the old apt so we get our money back...

I actually like that though. I like packing, carrying boxes up a flight or two of stairs, transporting them, carrying them up more stairs, and then unpacking. I have no idea why. I can certainly understand why people hate it. But I love it.

what about doing the dishes and laundry? you like that shit too?

Yes. Well, yes to doing laundry anyway. I feel nothing when washing dishes, unless there's something really gross on them. Then I try to get someone else to do them.

Hmm, I don't particullarly enjoy that, but I do hate it less than stepping in it if I haven't picked it up.

I enjoyed moving, have done it at least 35 times. I became an expert packing the boxes so they'd be just the right weight to carry and staple. It was also a good opportunity to throw away trash and go through all the shit you've gathered. I never threw away enough stuff tho, the vans I had to hire just got bigger and bigger with every move...

Now I don't plan to move anymore (unless something very serious happens, like I win a few million to get my own house or find both love and well paying job somewhere else) so shit just piles up (no pun intended).

I enjoy doing the laundry as well, and I like ironing. I hate washing up the dishes tho, but can't afford to buy a small dishwasher.
