it's interesting that that is what you see when you look at marcia cross. she's working in an industry where women are often overlooked once they hit the 40 mark so i guess she feels pressure to iron out a few wrinkles which will be magnified a hundred times when her image is projected onto a screen. she's not distorted beyond reality -- she looks pretty normal to me. are you threatened by her beauty and success? she's hardly a pathetic woman; she's enjoying a huge amount of success later in her career.

I'm sorry, but your "feminist" analysis is quite shallow - feminism, at its core, is about recognizing and opposing the cultural patterns and structures that maintain the hierarchy between sexes, it's not about applauding women whatever they do. As for women bashing other women, I don't really see how it brings ALL women down, but it's not exactly making huge strides with how they're treated by the majority of men.

But it's true that men don't normally attack other men based simply on appearance. I think men in general do their best to not show signs of malcontentment with themselves and therefor disregard males they feel threatened by. It just draws attention to it. The biggest mistake you can make if you don't want to appear envious is to be all like, "I wouldn't wanna be that ripped, it's just gross" or talk about what you think women should be attracted to. It kinda applies to women, as well. But then, men aren't really fighting for fair/equal treatment in society.
