what do you mean? a shirely temple is 7 up (or plain soda) and grenadine. period. no variation.

grenadine and coke is a roy rogers.


and anything else is just something you made up.


*edit: then again I once had a person order tequila(a maragrita) with a sugared rim. people do some terrible things to drinks.

I've never had a Shirley Temple. Or a Roy Rogers for that matter. I prefer rum and coke. Or an electric lemonade.

Shirley Temples are awesome, but they're virgin drinks. I was at a dental seminar for my work and they had a free open bar, and I saw cherries in a bowl there and asked the bartender "What can I get with cherries?" and she replied "Oh, a Shirley Temple. I could make it non-virgin for you." So of course I was like \m/ (-_-) \m/

So she takes out Bacardi, puts Sprite in a highball over ice, and adds in the light rum. Puts cherries in the drink, and voila! Shirley Temple. Oh, wait...except Shirley Temples NEED grenadine. Apparently to her, a virgin Shirley Temple is Sprite. :rolleyes:

I always thought it was gingerale with a maraschino cherry and some of the juice from the maraschino cherry jar. :o
