what do you watch on a weekly (nightly) basis?
what shows can you NOT miss?
what shows are just afterthoughts if you get the time?
WARNING** I, and others, couldn't give 2 shits if you are one of those "i don't watch much TV, TV sucks.....i read books....and do stuff. Turn the TV off" people.
bite me. no one cares about your sanctimonious soap-boxing about the "perils" of watching lots of TV.
i read plenty of books, i write, and i create music often as well.....i just like TV.
monday:
i watch the new show Surface, then Monday Night Football. that's it.
i should watch Arrested Devolpment...it's a great show. but i'm into sci-fi mystery shit now....so, eh.
tuesday: i started watching Bones. it kinda sucks ass.
then i started watching My Name is Earl. it's ok. then The Office. that's pretty funny.
i try to stay awake and watch Boston Legal after that, but i always fall asleep on the couch.
Tuesday TV kinda sucks. i usually just end up flicking around...and falling asleep.
wednesday: Lost, of course. can't miss it. then Invasion. that's it.
thursday: i watch The OC with my girl. it's entertaining, but i really wouldn't mind if i missed it. it is what it is. i'd rather watch will and grace sometimes, but i got bored of that show anyway.
then i started watching NightStalker. it's okay. it's like X-files-light. it'll probably get cancelled.
then i try to watch ER, i like it....but i fall asleep every time.
Friday: we usually go out...so i don't watch much TV on fridays. which is good, because Friday television is fucking pathetic as far a networks. if we're home, it's usually DVD night. but i will try and catch Real Time w/bill maher if i can....love that fuckin show.
Saturday: same as Friday, usually not home....and the Networks blow on saturday...so fuck TV. my girl is still obsessed with COPS though....
if i'm home, and have no motivation to do anything productive, i just flip around. the only highlight is when HBO has a good boxing match on. that's fuckin heaven.
Sunday: i watch football, or football related programing from 11am till 7:30 pm. yeah...i know.
then, my girl takes over the tv, cause she's fuckin sick of fuckin football...and put's it on Extreme Makeover:Home Edition, then Desparate Housewives, then Grey's Anatomy-- which i'll watch unless the sunday night football game is too good to miss, which is often.
i want to watch family guy, but football trumps everything. maybe after football season. same with simpsons.
i need to start watching Curb Your Enthusiasm again...haven't the chance.
life is good.
Mon: Arrested Development (missed the past two episodes), Prison Break, Weeds (sometimes....if I have nothing else to do)
Tues: My Name is Earl, The Office (sometimes)
Wed: Lost (oooo yeah)
Thurs: CSI (i want to do Katherine all porno style)
Fri: usually not home
Sat: usually not home
Sunday: The War At Home (its pretty funny, don't sleep on it peoples), The Family Guy (even though its not funny anymore), American Dad (its alright), Curb Your Enthusiasm, Extras

If I watched TV I'd hate to miss Adult Swim the most; Harvey Birdman, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021, Home Movies...
In college in the middle of the day between classes I always watched reruns of The Kids in the Hall
Rerun favorites - Seinfeld, Futurama
Guilty pleasures - The Real World, Elimidate, Blind Date
Mother-Daughter bonding TV - What Not To Wear, Brini Maxwell

I don't have a regular tv schedule apart from on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Tuesday: The Amazing Race
Thursday: Survivor and The Apprentice
And
During dinner most nights: King Of Queens
Whenever I get the chance: Seinfeld, basketball, tennis, Much Music, The Simpsons, stuff on The Discovery Channel.
And I stopped watching Will & Grace. We buy the DVD sets for it, so I'm like, I can wait for that.

\m/ i fucking hate shit like this.
i try to watch the news everyday and i only watch tv at nights.

I thought there was only two shows I watch regularly but I guess it's more like 4 -
Monday: Arrested Devlopment - best writing on a comedy show ever and still nobody fucking watches it! Argh
Wednesday: LOST, of course
Friday: Degrassi and Instant Star
I have Tivo so I just watch them whenever which is really nice
And I have to say (this is so sad) that I watch probably at least 6 or 7 hours of Law and Order a week...

Yeah I guess I have a few guilty pleasure shows but I don't really make a point of watching them...I have seen quite a few Blind Dates.
Have any of you seen Cheaters? I think it's on UPN - it's so obviously fake half the time, it's agonizing to watch.

Tuesday: The Amazing Race
Thursday: Survivor and The Apprentice
all my work buddies watch that stuff...and talk about it all day.
i can't stand them....i'm so out of the loop on Survivor gossip.
stuff on The Discovery Channel. yeah, discovery channel, National geographic channel, animal planet, TLC, and the like.....all supply me with good filler material when times are slow.
they had a special on Nat.Geo last night about people who believe the Moon landing was faked by NASA.
hilarious...
how is prison break and weeds?
whatdya think about them? funny? will Earl get cancelled?
i will say that the women on the CSI shows are just bangin....BANGIN! especially CSI:MIAMI. too bad those shows are so formulaic....
are you serious?
Prison break is alright...its not great but my lady wants to do the main dude on there so she watches it every week.
Weeds is alright too. Its kind of twisted at parts and some of the characters are annoying but seeing kevin neelan acting (if he is) baked makes me laugh.
I really like my name is earl...maybe because im a huge jason lee fan. He pulls off the white trash role very very well. It will get cancelled, but shouldn't (just like Arrested Development).
The Office is funny, but if I get caught up doing something else while its on, I don't mind missing it.
I can't dig any of the other CSI ladies or shows. Only Marg and Vegas. Ohh sweet sweet Marg's lovely tookhas.
And hell yeah I'm serious. The first episode wasn't good at all. But the last two episodes I saw made me laugh out loud and I don't really do that that much when watching TV.

I'll start each night at 8:00, before that it's usually reruns of Seinfeld or Simpsons
Monday: Nothing until 9:00, then it's Football and Wrestling surf war.
Tuesday: Channel Surfing until 9:00 for Earl and The Office (I tape Amazing race)
Wednesday: Surf until 9:00, then watch LOST, and Nip-Tuck at 10:00
Thursday: Survivor at 8:00, usually surfing afterwards
Friday: Surfing if I watch anything at all.

haha, cheaters.
soooo fucking melodramatic.
i love how the host dude always tries to get a fight going by asking all of these inflamitory questions during the confrontation: "so...how many times have you had sex with this women...while your girlfriend was at home, cleaning...and crying. how many times? do you think about her when you make love to your girlfriend?"

Someone was talking about how they'd only seen Law & Order a few times and how what they saw wasn't very good...and I honestly couldn't come up with an explanation as to why I love it so much. I just have to see what happens if I see the beginning - they all have pretty much the same formula (though SVU has been delving into more character development which is cool), but I still love em.

I love Cheaters, but it's on at like 2 AM. The only shows I regularly watch are CSI Vegas, Family Guy, and The Simpsons. Curb, and The Sopranos when I can and Football. I'd much rather spend time making baby giggle than watch some stupid sitcom about a fat dude and his unrealistically hot wife and their wacky family. Sitcoms are dead to me.
I long for the days of a Mr. Belvedere.

Tuesday night: The O.C. (if I haven't already downloaded and watched it :p)
Thursday night: Lost (when it's on)
Friday night (if home): Charmed
Don't really watch all that much t.v....don't really get the time...but when I do it's good to lie down for an hour to get your mind off a few things.

I have TiVo so I have no idea of when anything is actually on.
shows that I tend not to miss:
. Real Time with Bill Maher
. The Daily Show
. Foreign Exchange with Fareed Zakaria
. The Sopranos (when it's on)
. Curb Your Enthusiasm
. 24
shows that I can take or leave (but usually wind up taking):
. Survivor
. Amazing Race
. The West Wing
Then there are bunches of shows on things like the Discovery Channel that I watch. Documentaries, round-the-world news updates, Nova-style programs.
i admit that i am one of those "arg i hate TV TV makes you stupid" people. i didnt have cable in my dorm room one year and i didnt bother to ask to get it fixed, so i just stopped watching. after a month i didnt miss it and haven't really gone back
that said, i really like lost. but i haven't been watching the new season at all, because i stopped watching the show regularly (accidentally) about halfway through the first season. I'm trying to catch up now but i dont want to watch the new episodes for fear that it'll spoil shit for me, the revelations are exciting.
i used to watch stella regularly, but now it's not on anymore.
i try to watch the daily show every day, but it's on so damn late and i'm at class when it's on during the day most of the time (even the 8:00 pm showing).
i like adult swim, too. i wish they made more than one season of the venture brothers, that show's hilarious. they kind of made it so that they can't though, given the ending of the first season :( harvey birdman still cracks me up though.
i caught the end of my name is earl, it was pretty funny, i liked it. i'm trying not to watch it regularly though, i dont want to get sucked in.
i rented disc one of season 3 of curb your enthusiasm and i loved it, but i havent got around to watching any other episodes, unfortunately. it's like seinfeld, only it's about larry david and his celebrity friends...and no laugh track

Yeah, I sadly said to my dad something about needing to watch Lost the other day. Ugh. I have gone without TV quite easily in the past and actually I wish I didn't have any. Personally for me it is much too easy to procrastinate with it and I do feel like I am wasting time while I could be doing things that are much more stimulating. When I get my own place I decided I'm not going to have teeeveee
Monday - nothing - Laguna Beach was last night, but I gotta fight the b/f tooth and nail to see that one.
Tuesday - nothing that I can think of except Real World if nothing else is on.
Wednesday - Ghost Hunters and whatever is after that
Thursday - The OC and The Apprentice while DVR'ing Reunion
Friday - nothing, but will watch the DVR'd Reunion
Saturday - If there's a good 'new' movie on Cinemax or HBO, then that
Sunday - Surreal Life, Breaking Bonaduce, Entourage (when it's on), The Simpsons and Family Guy (gotta keep the b/f happy)
*Fill any of those nights with flipping back and forth to Baseball.

well that's kinda common in college...
i didn't watch much tv in college either....i had homework/projects, classes, all my housemates and parties, chicks, beer, drugs....no time for much TV.
it's differant after school, when you get a job, a wife/live-in girlfriend, a house and yard....and settle into middle class suburbia. you look forward to crawling onto the couch with your girl with the TV on and just forgetting about your problems at work, bills, etc....
you don't have to worry about homework...there aren't any parties (like you have the interest/money anyway), your friends are home doing the same thing your are, you don't do drugs anymore and slow your drinking...
TV becomes alot easier/more inviting to watch.

I feel the same way. I can sit down on the couch to watch, and hours later wonder where my evening went. I hated that. The only thing I REALLY want to watch now is movies, although that is procrastinating too, it's really no different, I just feel more satisfied having watched an entire story, instead of an episode, or instead of flipping aimlessly through channels. I don't have a TV and I don't miss it at all. It's harder to live without internet. No emails, no news updates, no mapquest or online shopping and fact-finding etc. That's worse.

i honestly never sit down on a regular basis to watch tv, but there are shows i would like to watch if i could. (it makes it harder now that i have class/practive from 6-8:30 every day)
but....
monday - i record arrested development because i am never here
tuesday - i enjoyed my name is earl and the office. ill watch them unless i have work to do, which tends to happen. most of my assignments are due the first half of the week, os i get behind on things
thursday - nip/tuck, i might actually start to record this on a regular basis so i get to watch it if im not here or distracted
saturday - if my school doesnt have a home game, then i usually was up just in time for the early game kickoffs and will watch college football all afternoon
sunday - simpsons and family guy, as well as at least the steeler game, sometimes other games, but usually not

I usually have the TV on next to me all evening when I'm sitting by the computer. It's more to keep me company than anything else.
I try not to miss That 70's show, Will & Grace, Drew Carey, Frasier or CSI.
On wednesday nights there's a gardening show that I tape every time, as well all the other gardening shows if there is.
Also I never miss (or try not to) any music shows, Musikbyrån (Music bureau) or music documentaries (this summer there was a series about the 60's and another of soulmusic, now they're showing a series about politics in music)
I check the news every now and then, and South Park and Simpsons when they happen to be on when zapping. Also some documentaries on TV8 and Discovery (mainly about artists or authors, Egypt, some science, UFO's) usually catch my interest.
As of Saturday I have plenty more channels to choose from now (45 to be exact, I had 14 before) so I don't know if it's gonna change my viewing patterns. Hopefully there'll be more gardening and music to choose from (well I've had MTV2 on almost all the time since then).

OK.
Monday : Monday night Football.
Tuesday : The Biggest Loser (I know, I know), My Name Is Earl, The Office, and Nip/Tuck (The DVD sets are freaking awesome)
Wednesday : LOST
Thursday : Survivor (still a great show), The Apprentice (weaker than other shows, but at least they don't have to eat disgusting shit except when they stick their noses up Trump's ass), ER (although this season officially sucks-ass)
Friday : SuperNanny (if I'm home - what can I say, I got 4 kids!). Otherwise, just news and other crap if I'm not doing something with the kids.
Saturday : UCLA football. Otherwise, family stuff
Sunday : Lotta football (GO RAIDERS...yeah, right...they suck this year), or more family stuff.
OK, as for channel surfing : Elimidate (totally guilty pleasure), any Poker (love that stuff), Blind Date, Room Raiders (I know, MTV....so?), Seinfeld or Friends for reruns....

I just flick to see what's on. I usually look for British natural history programmes. Sure, programmes about lions and tigers are great but I really want to see programmes about animals I am likely to see.
The first channels I check out are the BBC channels because they do some absolutely excellent stuff. BBC4 has shown some outstanding documentaries about Jose Bove, the McLibel case, the attempted coup in Venezuela plus a whole shitload more. It's also on the BBC that Ray Mears and Bill Oddie do their stuff.
However I long for a green politics/ecology channel. If I knew how to start one I'd do it.

I don't have a schedule really. I miss alot of programs I really like because I'm not paying attention.
I still watch Charmed fairly regularly even though it's gotten really lame. it use to be cheesy fun, but now just really lame. basically ever since Julian McManhon left to do Nip/Tuck the show has gone down hill.
I enjoy the travel channel alot. Anthony Bourdain's new show is cool.
I also like miami ink.
my boyfriend and I both enjoy the sheild.
ya that's about it. I'm a channel surfer.
mon->fri - the last season of JAG on the history channel. same episode on 3 times a day, so it's hard to miss. i never saw the last season, and i want to know if mac and rabb bump uglies.
monday - Dead Like Me just started showing on showcase at 11adt

Of shows that are still airing new episodes, I watch:
"Alias" (I actually missed both the season finale AND the season premiere... it slipped the mind TWICE!!!! :( )
"Smallville" (lord, I even just missed the season premiere, however, I believe the episode will be re-airing soon, so I got my fingers crossed there)
"24" (oh baby, best show ever)
Of shows that are no longer airing new episodes, I'm into:
"Freaks and Geeks"
"Undeclared"
"Roswell"
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer"
"Firefly"
"The Twilight Zone" (old-school version, not the '80s one or the recent one in 2003 or so)
Of shows that are still on, but I'm forced to catch up via the DVDs, I'm into:
"Scrubs"
"The West Wing" (boy, I'm awful, I STILL have only seen Seasons 1 & 2 :( )
"The 4400"
"Curb Your Enthusiasm"
"Lost" (that's right, Qdrop. I'm a new convert!)
Mini-series that I've loved:
"Band of Brothers"
"Taken"
"From The Earth to The Moon"
Shows that I used to be into, but now not so much anymore:
"The Simpsons" (it's gotten lame in the last few years)
"Star Trek," "Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (yeah, I know. I was/am a nerd. Shut it! )
"Seinfeld" (LOVED it when it was on and even was all about the re-runs for a few years afterwards, but I'm not exactly in a rush to get the DVD sets)
If I remember to watch it, I'll check out "American Dad."
Oh yes, and I'm of course big on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," but most of the time I catch up with the video segments on the Comedy Central website. I'm rarely up at midnight on a weeknight to see 'em first hand. :p
I think that's the extent of my TV habits. Most of the shows I'm into is because of the DVD box sets. DVD is such a godsend to catch up on shows. (y)

when it's on, i usually watch south park, family guy, simpsons, arrested development. i ususally watch discovery [health] channel, pbs, tlc, and comedy central.
the u-m games on saturdays are an always thing, as well as other college and pro football.
that's about it. i don't watch much television.

i missed the premiere episode too  but i basically know what happens in it anyway so it's all good (y)
you should be glad you missed those too, the cliffhanger right at the end of series 3 left you on the edge of the seat, but when you find out what it was in relation to, it's kinda a huge let down (n)
where are you up to anyway?

I wish you people would STOP RUBBING IT IN. Damn, when do we get new episodes???
I rarely watch broadcast TV. It's not a snob thing--I love TV, I just can't count on being home to watch it and I can't be bothered to tape anymore.
I try really hard to watch:
Amazing Race
America's Next Top Model
Project Runway when that's back on.
Daily Show
I officially gave up on Survivor and Apprentise
I would watch Curb Your Enthusiasm if I had HBO
I can't remember the last time I watched a network sitcom or drama when it actually aired.
I watch a lot of PBS, but never the deep stuff. I love Manor House, Frontier House--all the reality TV stuff, and Mystery and the sappiest dramas like Anne of Green Gables and low brow documentaries like Frontline.
I rent lots of TV shows on Netflix so I can speed through episodes. Some day, it's how I'll see Lost. The second season of Arrested Development is coming next week. :)
British people: I loved Castaway. That was my favorite reality TV show ever. If BBCAmerica ran that again, I'd have to get digital cable again.

Oh, we're good then. I saw the old episodes on TV when I was in Melbourne.
I have lots of Tom Baker ones on tape. He was THE doctor in the US. He's the one we saw on public television all the time when I was in school. I actually like the guy before him better because they felt so '60s.

yeah peter davidson is on at the moment. he doesn't have the charisma tom baker had tho. i think colin baker is next. he's been on most brittish sci fi shows so i'm keen to see what he's like. he was friggin awesome in blakes 7.
dont they show the old school episodes in the states? i may have to go and buy some tom baker dr who dvd's today now :D

They used to show a bunch of them, two hours worth at a time, on late night public TV on weekends so I could tape them. And they only showed the Tom Baker episodes. For a while, BBCAmerica ran the half hour ones at 7 in the morning or something but only the same handfull of episodes over and over.
I didn't like the big guy with the fuzzy hair when I first saw him. He was too much of a clown so that you couldn't believe he could be a time lord at all. Not that believability has a lot to do with Doctor Who. :) I'd watch him now because it would be better than no doctor at all. The little mousy guy that came next was the absolute worst.
Someone gave me the key of time set for my birthday. (y) Tom Baker's commentary is embarrassingly bad.

hahaha, delightful. there's a store a few k's away from me called twisted metal, which makes all these sculptures out of away (alien, predator that kind of stuff) and they have a dalek there, i'm tempted to buy it. :o
you know i've never seen an episode with a dalek in it! as far as i know i dont think there's any tom baker episodes with them in it.
hmm, random useless dr who fact. my gf's sister was named after one of the assistants Tegan who's on the episodes they're playing now in australia.
also, is it just me or is the theme music the best to any show ever or what!? :D

Hmm, the only show that I have to watch at a specific time is Lost, because everything else is shown on cable and rerun fairly often, so I can catch up when I want. However, I didn't see the premiere because I was on my way home from Chicago when it came on, and I completely forgot about last week's episode. I don't know if I'll even be home tomorrow to see it, so I might miss that one too. The other shows I have to see are:
Degrassi: The Next Generation
The Daily Show
The Al Franken Show
Real Time With Bill Maher
Futurama
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Monty Python's Flying Circus (okay, so it's not new. They still show it on BBC America every week)

There are Daleks in some Tom Baker episodes, but they weren't his best episodes. He was the Doctor for a long time.

There's nothing wrong with Al Franken. I'd listen to his radio show, bit we don't get Air America here, so I'm stuck with watching the condenced version on the Sundance Channel.

Yeah, we're in the 5th season. But I'm in Canada (but it airs at the same time as the U.S. airs it).
As for Season 5, no it ain't true. Jennifer Garner is still there. From what I've heard, they're working in Jen's pregnancy into the plot of the show (that's all I know, so I don't know who the father would be in the show... my guess is Vaughn).
Nevertheless, I gotta REMEMBER that Thursday night is "Alias." I can't believe I missed the premiere because I was studying. What kind of idiot puts schoolwork ahead of "Alias"?

hmm, i guess i only questions i need to know are, is nadia dead? coz i totally hate her, and is irina really dead, because my friend and i have a theory she isn't. hmm, you never know, marshall might be the father :p
or even stranger, Sark, now that'd be some wack shit

Unless something happened in the last two episodes, Nadia is still alive.
As for Irina Derevko, I don't want to give it away, but let's just say that she's not quite as dead as Jack Bristow thought. ;)

I'd say the Rambaldi stuff is more or less in the background. But it intensifies towards the end of the series.
I know Arvin Sloane is so despised throughout the series, but I've always had a soft spot for that shifty villain. ;)

I personally get VIOLENT urges when it come to Sark, though. He's so smug that I want to deck him (the same way Vaughn wants to).
And man oh man, am I ever glad that Vaughn's wife (what's her name again?) was killed. Damn traitor!

Monday - I tape mythbusters, 'cause my wife watches Aussie Idol and I want to keep her happy.
Tuesday - The Simpsons.
Wednesday - I'm at work, but if I get to see some teev, I watch Spicks and Specks, The Glass House and maybe At The Movies.
Thursday - Work again, but theres nothing on that I care about so I usually bring a DVD just in case
Friday - Football, but now the seasons over we'll see.
Saturday - Nothing
Sunday - Aussie Idol with my wife. I don't really like it but I get to bag out the contestants because this year they're all awful.
If i've been up late studying then I'll watch Futurama on DVD to wind down. I also watch The Simpsons reruns Mon-Fri, and they've just started putting King of the Hill on mon-fri as well.
Damn! Some of you fuckers watch too much T.V.
Sunday - football, Simpsons
Monday - I work out
Tuesday - obidience school for the puppy
Wed - Xbox, I can make the wife watch some reality bullshit in the bedroom
Thursday - band practice
Friday, Saturday - I go out
Any time I can actually sit down and watch some T.V. - HISTORY CHANNEL!

I sleep during prime time and there is nothing on during the day. I mean NOTHING. I am grateful to my cable company however for adding the cartoon network to the On Demand listing. I watch Cowboy Bebop, Dexter's Lab, Samaurai Jack, Ed Edd and Eddie...you know, quality tv.
And I'm pissed about missing Surface.

yeah lauren reed was a bitch. the funniest thing was that i lmao when i first saw Melissa George (Lauren) in Alias because she's australian, not english, and she used to be the lead character on a crappy australian soap here called Home and Away (imagine Neighbours, but more retarded and at the beach)
i think i like Sark so much because he's so sadistic, and he's got the best evil smile
i'm still pissed you guys are already up to the 5th series
