Did you go to your reunion? what was it like?

I have a reunion rayon long sleeve shirt....I think I've had it for ten years, but I still see no cause to invite people from high school out and talk about it.

I have a feeling it's going to be really lame. It's not even a hosted bar, so we have to pay for our drinks!? WTF?
I'm in touch with most of the people that mattered form HS. Still I'm curious. I know I'm a completely different person now, so I wonder just how much people have changed or haven't changed.

Go, even if it sucks it's good. I'm always tenative about these events with old comrades, but in the end it's my ego. I'm going to everything with humility and trying to be a good friend. You'll feel better if you go.
my two cents

I didn't go to mine. Only 30 people showed up, anyway. I wasn't one of them.

I've still got another 5 years before mine. Considering that I live in Utah, it will just be everyone married and on their 3rd child (at least). And yeah, all my good friends that I care about I am still friends with now, so who knows if I'll go...

Sweetheart, my ten year reunion was six years ago so don't feel bad.
I didn't go to mine as I won't go to my twentieth in 2009. I never made any long lasting friendships in highschool. There were some cats that I hung out with but that's it. That's all it was. Half the time I didn't really want to see those muh'fukka's then and sure as hell don't want to see them now.
A reunion to me is nothing but an excuse for people to stand around smiling in each other's faces while thinking to themselves, "I'm glad I don't look as bad as he/she does."
Meh. Who needs it?

Mine would be next year. Wow, how 10 years just goes by. Don't think anyone in our year would have the brains to organise or remember such an event. I think it was 5th May 1996 when I left school. I know I was 15, cus I started my first job at that age in June 1996...
Hmmm, wow 10 years.
I've gotta go to mine. I might hook up :D

We don't graduate here. You are imprisoned until your 15/16 depending where your birthday is and then most carry on to get A-Levels or something and then go to a dead end job at 18, I quit and got me some mo' in a dead end job at 15 instead :o

My 5 year reunion is next year. And to all those teachers who said I wouldn't go anywhere if I didn't graduate from high school, I'll be rubbing my Associates Degree and Bachelor's Degree in their fat faces. Then I plan to get drunk and vomit on the popular snotty girl's car like I've always wanted. (y)

it would be a lot cooler if you vomited INSIDE her car instead of on. Spaulding Smails Style.

Maybe I could kind of manage to vomit in the handle of the door. Not so she'd be able to see it, but when she reached to curl her fingers under the handle, she'd get a fistful of spew.

I've heard of several marriages that ended because one of the spouses hooked up with someone at the reunion. My friend's brother ran off with a married mother of three who he had always had a crush on. The 20th is the big one for those hijinks.
I didn't go to any reunions until the 20th. I didn't exactly enjoy it but I needed to go. I don't think I'll go again. I knew I wouldn't know very many people. I went through the yearbook before I went and they mostly looked like strangers. I was also in a group of 30 students who were singled out for special instruction so I rarely had classes with the rest of the students. I stopped going to extra school activities my senior year because of my dad's illness.
I was awfully surprised at how many people remembered me. People would scream my name and walk up and I'd say, "how do you know me?" and they would tell stories that sounded kind of familiar.
One guy I had a crush on back then was super lame now. He still had 80s hair. :( The other turned out exactly the opposite of what I would have figured, but he was still super cool.
my 10 year reunion was a couple of months ago. i decided not to attend. a friend of mine went and said everyone was the same, even the really petty danielle, who still manages to look down on you when you're taller than her. i saw some photos and people who wouldnt even talk to each other 10 years ago were gettting photos together.
it just looked a bit lame. and the people i actually want to see, i keep in touch with anyway

I didn't want to go to mine but I did anyway.
I had a blast!
I kept in contact with all my close friends but it was great to see all those people that were just "casual friends" It was even great to see people I didn't really like all that much. (although I was friends with pretty much everyone in my school)
