From what you said the other day, it sounded like the problem was at your end. "Cable is unplugged" is *NOT* a server error. Your router can be disconnected from the internet manually and *not* give that error.

Wait until you have to call them......they cannot fucking understand english or any concept of they're fuck up. I once called their 800 # and talked to a dozen+ techs in one night, they told me to quit calling they were working on it.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
I just kept bugging 'em in the middle of the night....finally they caved in and we came to a resolution. (free call from work...got paid while I dialed away) They have no real supervisor...it's just a bunch of bullshit.
Fuck AOL....leave 'em, I did and I'm never going back.

They called. We were suspended from AOL for over a year because I had trolled chat rooms.
OMG!
Serves you right. Should've ditched the client software, and been connecting directly. Also, should've been connecting to IRC networks, which AOL have no authority over.
Rookie mistakes.

AOL gets into Windows and fucks with it. Don't go there, they're evil.
Fucking AOL makes computers nearly impossible to work on (from a technical point of view), it's easier to format your hard drive and re-install Windows.

See, if you are an incompetent internet novice, that might be the case. However, anyone with an ounce of computing experience will be able to tell you that it is not necessary to install the AOL client software in order access their network. I use AOL as my ISP and don't run the AOL shell.
Furthermore, it is not "easier" to format your hard-drive and reinstall windows. Turning off the services and deleting the registery keys takes a few seconds to any experienced user. Reformatting a drive is an irritating and convaluted process which can take several hours of software installation to recover from.

We need Connie (http://www.plusworld.co.uk/media/connie.gif) back. She'd fix it.

But all the people who I fix computers for run the whole package, which like I said, eats into Windows and replaces many Windows registry files with their own.

Such as? I have managed to save several AOL users from their poor choice in *software* and have yet to find their windows irrevocably damaged...
