so I made my decision: I'm going to be a teacher.

Thanks for anyone who gave input in that thread. I am excited. I will soon be able to do study abroad programs too and it's going to rock my ass. And focusing on just pure art is going to rock ass too.

I won't be rich, but I am okay with that. If I marry my current boyfriend, we will both be teachers.

Awww. That really is the only part that makes me want to vomit. But oh well. :D

and thanks people. TAL, I figure that my children will be driven nuts by us being teachers but oh well. They shouldn't have (or is it shouldn't will be?) been created in my uterus and popped out of my woowoo.

Maybe. I'm teaching art though, and one more class... haven't decided which yet. I want to teach high school only for a few years, I ultimately want to teach college level art classes.

I'll be the art teacher that carries a gat.

Good to see you're making some career choices and shit. Remember, if you become an art teacher you have to be fucking insane and smoke copious (spelling) amount of drugs. :D

Aww, good decision! My Mom is a first grade teacher and she's the best teacher I know.

if you want to teach jr. high and above, getting a job should be cake.

if you want to teach the lower grades, good luck :)

my mom took the CBEST to subteach and said it was cake. She couldn't believe that so many people had difficulty with it.

I was, and then I realized as I got older than I am unwilling to put in the hours it required because I want a more balanced life. When I was 18 and such I didn't really consider it.

Also, chew chew head, I want to teach high school then eventually college level.

Both my parents are teachers and so is my wife. I think it's a fantastic career. (y) Just not for me :D
