Have you been seeing these ads for Kaine and Kilgore? Holy crap, all attack ads. I'm proud of Kaine for rolling with the punches and firing back just as hard though. I'm so sick and tired of seeing Democrats saying they want to play fair, it's about time they roll up their sleeves and delve into the dirty fighting of politics. (y)

Yeah... I even caught part of their debate which was moderated by some fellow with a hideous and quite obvious hairpiece.
I think Kaine wins hands down as he has worked closely already with Warner and they have done quite a nice job with Virginia's economy.

I agree. I also find it weird that blue states have red governors, and red states have blue governors. Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New York are all like that.
Till '06 baby, Mayor O'Malley from Ballmore is going to absolutely molest Ehrlich in the MD elections. (y)

i have reasons to hate both...
Kaine was Mayor here in Richmond and was terrible, used tax payor money to finance bus trips to anti gun rallies (no matter what side of the arguement you are on, use your own money to finance your view, not tax payor money)...also he was protective of the bureaucracy here that wasted tons of money through ineffectiveness, laziness, etc. he supported the former city manager calvin jamison who got a nice little $200K parachute when he got the boot from doug wilder. and this is all the tip of the iceberg, i could spend a whole day telling you about the public schools system in richmond
kilgore is just a suck up. i hate him because he helped get Va Tech into the ACC while Commonwealth Attorney.
Potts is an idiot.

you mean running on not raising taxes.....then raising taxes....and then find out we have a huge surplus and the tax increase was not needed????????
Warner can hang out at the Nascar races and the good ole boy gatherings and pretend to be a regular stiff, but he's a tax loving democrat who made his millions off of govt cell phone frequency lotteries...

HURRAY FOR KAINE!!
His win is supposedly pretty significant because Bush endorsed Kilgore, which may (or may not) show that his endorsement is seen as negative. They'd have to do polls about that specific question to find out, though.

no matter which one won, aint nothing going to change much. both were pathetic candidates.
like choosing either warm milk or cold spaghetti.........
I heard that Kilgore was a bit reluctant to have Bush support him publicly because of bush's low approval ratings recently. I also heard that Bush said we should support Kilgore because "he was a nice fella from virginia that was raised on a farm." What a douche...but I guess it doesn't matter now since Kaine won.

Is everyone on the "this bodes well for Democrats in 2006" bandwagon?
Does the fact that no seats changed party hands mean anything?
Was this a local decision or did it have a lot to do with national politics?

i'd say it was more local.....
nobody here in Richmond really paid attention to bush coming to town last monday except for the gop hard core folks.
kaine came across as a much more mellow fellow. kilgore was a walking photo op. plus it didnt help kilgore that he had a faggoty sounding hillbilly accent (no disrespect to gays)

I care little for either party, but yes this signals good things to come for Democrats. The Virginia race especially was very closely managed by leadership of both parties and it is a big boost of confidence to the Democrats.

Hey D_Raay....this brings up an interesting question : what party or belief system, if any, are you ascribing to nowadays? Are you still hellbent on a complete anarchic system in order to restructure everything?

What's your prognostication of what the "government" SHOULD look like AFTER the "Revolution," (which, BTW, will NOT be televised... ;) )?

It should look like a handful of well meaning individuals who are carefully chosen to actually get things done for the people of this country. No lies, no politics, no bullshit, just results. True Democracy.

Like the ancient Athenians?
Should those who are uneducated be allowed to vote? What about mentally impaired people? What about children?

Hehehe... Of course there would have to be guidelines. Maybe within each commune, there could be an individual vote to arise carefully thought out by the members.

Hmmmmmm.....
This raises more questions.....
What if a bunch of neo-NAzis came together and decided to start killing off Jews? Or wouldn't allow them to vote?
How about KKK members having their own little "commune?"
Or white supremacists (like Randy Weaver)?
What about a black enclave that excluded whites?
Or a commune solely for those who all VOTED to have child sex be legal?
What about a commune that voted for NO women's rights and forced the wearing of burqas?
Sounds like a great idea thus far, eh?
