Gawd those are so OLD!!!
Just kidding.
This is a cool coincidence because right now (really!) I am listening to a new CD I just bought two hours ago, Jefferson Airplane's Crown Of Creation (http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=6079152&style=music&cart=278098807&BAB=M). This came out in 1968 & is considered by many to be their best album. I'm only half way through it but have yet to feel the need to skip to another track. And yes, it *is* quite trippy sounding and will make most people who listen to it immediately envision lava lamps, tie dye and mentally hear the phrase "hey man" spoken by people with eyes half shut. :)

I've never owned a Rolling Stone album but I do own Rumours, and despite all the reviews, critical acclaim, and way too much play of just 2-3 songs from it on the radio, it really IS a good album.

I'm kinda surprised you've never owned a Stones album, man. There's quite a few worth getting. Rumours is fine and all but Exile is one of the greatest albums ever recorded. And the songs on it aren't bad either.

I'd never owned one before now either. I'd always forsaken The Stones for Led Zeppelin.
Now I can kind of (kind of) see why so many Stones fans think Zep are overrated.
It's(Exile) one mean fucker of an album though, better than any of their greatest hits albums. You know what I mean? Those albums that a band should just release as a greatest hit disc because it makes their greatest hits sound like gumboots in a shitpond?

Yeah, you can definitely give the fast forward button a break with this album. As far as their greatest hits albums go, though...I don't know, I think Hot Rocks is definitely one of the best "hits" packages ever.

I definitely one of those kids you mention, but I can see some balance now. (y)
