Who do you think will get the role? The tabloids think Paul Craig (from "Layer Cake") will get the role.

I'd go for Jason Statham myself. I know mickill hopes The Rock will get cast.

I had read that Julian McManhon form Nip/Tuck was approached about the role but his name isn't even mentioned in that article.

it's probably gonna be that craig guy they can't shut up about.

I couldn't care less really.

but I think McManhon is a hottie and could have possibly pulled it off.

This is hardly exciting news. I do think that Jason Statham is a fine actor. I don't know if he'd make good Bond, though. He's got the tough guy thing about him. But then, maybe that's just what this lame franchise needs.

Its McMahon, hes a bit of a wanker though. He just looks too much like a sleazy bad guy. Thats what you get when you're the son of a prime minister.

I reckon Hugh Jackman would be better...

yeah pierce brosnan was the best 007. i mean, sean connery was good - but brosnan was so sly, sexy and fucking pyscho! i wish he was in 2 previous bond films to goldeneye. he looked oldish in goldeneye.

They just announced it's Daniel Craig. Not sure he's the best choice, I'd have gone for Clive Owen personally.

The standard for Bond girls has fell dramatically in recent years. I heard the next one will be Tara Reid. Come on! Bond girls are supposed to be sophisticated and refined and classy. I wonder if they will tell Tara that she can't use her normal "baby talk" voice if she's going to be a Bond girl.

It depends, really. Techinically, being white with a shaved head is a start. But slimming down, you could potentially just end up looking like Moby. Or worse, that dude from Midnight Oil.

I think it has more to do with bulking up a little too. I wouldn't exactly describe Jason Statham as slim.

ok, ok, there was an article on the news about this... everyone was all :eek: "a blonde bond!?"

why didn't they go all out and pick Statham?! if they're gonna change... pick a fucking bad ass that actually looks like he could kill the world's most dangerous villian.

daniel craig looks like he should be joining the villians - he never looks good as a goodie. he does have a strong Bond voice though, i'll give him that.

It's a mistake to select a good actor for the role. Good actors want to prove something new and so they try to fuck with the formula. The Bond audience (i.e. my brothers) don't want the formula fucked with.
