She was in my city because it was here that she and John Lennon started their peace campaign. 37 years ago I think.
I had a great urge to throw conkers, bless her!
Oh and Elton John flew over my house once.
What brushes have you had with fame?

I would love to meet her. I'm still a fan, though I prefer her early work. So lucky.
Yoko Ono has fans?

I stood outside a building at the end of May last year eating a chocolate bar, when the Beastie Boys passed right in front of me. I thought to myself "Damn, they look short!" and then I continued to eat. It was Twix.

- I think i saw Yoko Ono once, in this thing
- Mikhail Barishnikov, after i saw him perform that "heart" ballet, his last one? i bet some of you all saw that. when everyone goes down to "meet the artist" in another room, people were way too efusive and disorganized for what you would expect that crowd to be like though. was surprising.
- i went to a lecture the Dalai Lama gave some years ago, its so true what someone said from in here, hes so not what you would expect a "holy" person like him to be, a surprising sense of humor and at first glance shy, but then you realize humbleness.anyways, so after the lecture we went down to get ou cars in the garage floors and coincidentally thats where he left through (i guess cuz it was a discreet place to leave through), and suddenly he comes down where theres disabled people wanting to shake his hand so I joined the group and did the same.
- a bunch of other political dudes you all wouldnt care for.
- the ones i cant remember.
-shit! im so sorry new york! and John Lithgow after his 7/10 broadway show and almost that guy from the gigolo movie, whats his name, him.

the only run ins I have had are:
Dean Cook flirting with me on myspace and through emails.
Eminem over the phone on a local radio station when he first got popular (I called just to see if I could get through for the funk of it, I wanted to know how many people were calling. I got through! oops... I didn't actually want to talk to him haha)
then recently I met Bruce Campbell at his book signing. Yay. I was like a foot from him and I was so happy and a total fangirl it was sickening.
I think that's it.
no, but your dog does. *slaps knee*
Do I like dogs?
Ohhhhhh dogs, sure I like "dags".

I've met paul jones and TAL.
And Yauch.
We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when.
got drunk with friends, and went to oxygen in Moncton. tried unsuccesfully to pick up chicks with Nathan Lacoste (he's pretty down to earth, and chill), who then took me back to the hotel to chill with Arto Saari, Rune Glifburg, and the team manager. Kyle Leeper was trying to sleep on the far bed. we drank keiths, listened to music, and talked about stuff. i gotta admit they were all pretty down to earth.

Bono from U2 at California's Adventure next door to Disneyland. He was with his kids, we all rode the same roller coaster at the same time.
Even though it was obvious it was Bono (he had an entourage of Disney Hosts') nobody pestered the guy. It was a pretty neat bonus to a great day.
It was hot as hell outside (April 2001) and he still was wearing a leather jacket.
I've seen BB King driving a Lincoln Continental and Gene Hackman driving a Red BMW. Not really a brush, kind of a drive-by with fame.

my ex and i worked in a hotel where all the big acts stayed when they were on tour, and pearl jam came and stayed promised her tickets to their sold out show. they took her phone number, and promised to call her, and i thought 'yeah right'. the next day the phone rings and i answer it, and a guy goes, 'hey its jeff, is sam there?' and holy shit, jeff ament is calling my house!!! so we went to the show, (one of the best ive been to), then chilled out afterwards in their hotel rooms, the band went to bed fairly early so we drank with the engineers and guitar techs. smoked some shit hot weed too. thats where the guitar tech taught me to pop off bottle caps with a lighter. i was amazed. also we met moby too and he gave us tickets to his show out of his shirt pocket. good shit :D but then i broke up with her, and quit my job there. i later heard that she hung out with many other bands. bitch.

I'd like to meet Prince. I think.
Anyway, I've met Snoop, The Alkaholiks, Devin The Dude, Liam and Noel Gallagher, had a nice long chat with Fran Healy from Travis, hung out with Sarah Brightman and her entourage in her tour bus, saw Mike Myers strolling through a museum with a lady friend, got brushed off by DJ Hurricane, saw Britney Spears through a window, met Redman and Method Man at Virgin Records, got a picture with Ali Shaheed Muhammad from A Tribe Called Quest, stood 5 feet away from Tori Amos, saw whoever that actor is that plays Nick Newman on The Young And The Restless, talked about rap music with Xzibit (before he got signed) and was seated near Jeff Goldblum in a Japanese restaurant once. Oh and, Michael Buble hit on my wife and asked for her number. Twice. I think that's it.

I saw Yoko Ono on the street once. She was attempting to be disguised, hat, big sunglasses, tall collar. I saw her at a cross walk - she crossed over and i stayed. As i sat there wondering if that was really her, three dudes in suits jetted by in her direction

I've had quite a few brushes. One oof the perks of living in cities like New York and London; it happens. I don't mean to be blase about it, like "oh please I am sooo tired of running into these celebs" but you know, it just does happen from time to time. My favourite 'brush with fame' incident though is probably the time I was at a music club in NYC (damned if I can remember the name of it now, it's just not coming into mind) seeing Bootsy Collins and I was chatting with a mate at the bar and I made an exaggerated gesture with my right arm, causing the guy next to me to spill his drink all over himself. And that guy was Robert Plant. (FYI - very tall. Most famous people seem a lot shorter when you see them in person, but not him.)

Thats a great story! So Pearl Jam like. Living in Seattle all these years has netted me a lot PJ sightings. They are w/o a doubt one of the coolest rock and roll bands today. All the bullshit people have piled upon them and they just keep coming out year after year tearing down the house.
Mike McCready kicks fucking ass. (y)

I've had quite a few brushes. One oof the perks of living in cities like New York and London; it happens.
(y) Those cities are like random celebrity generators. You never know who your going to get when you go out for a walk, in London I walk by Sinead O'Connor, in NYC I walked by Frank Gifford. It's always random and it's always bizarre. :D
These "brush with fame threads" always remind me of the excellent, witty book "a massive swelling (http://www.powells.com/biblio?PID=29273&cgi=product&isbn=014100195X)" by Cintra Wilson. She's the anti People Magazine! It's freaking hilarious, her are some of her observations...
"Fame is a perverse deformity, an ego swelling as ludicrous as an extra sex organ"
"Celebrity is a virulent killer of fundamental human values"
"the Emperor is a fat, naked freak, and it all looks sick and ridiculous". But most Americans never reach that point of disbelief, SHOW BIZ!!!
Not exactly Entertainment Tonight. :)
