You know, I thought about this today, isn't it totally ridiculous to run in an election to be king and queen for homecoming in college?

I wish I had time to even remotely think about doing something stupid. I am taking 26 hours this semester, its total hell, but i graduate in December thank GOD.

I think college students that run for king and queen for homecoming in college really have a psychological problem! Are they lacking self confidence or do they just want the attention? What is the motivation behind such a process?

I thought homecoming king and queen stuff was stupid in high school, but in college? Get a life!

What is homecoming anyways? 'Home' 'coming'. I'm already at home and I'm not going anywhere, therefore im not 'coming' anywhere. The word doesnt even make sense

All you Philosophy buffs out their can answer this problem for me. I know you are used to asking: why, why after that, why is it like that, what makes it happen to even ask why.

Good luck

Usually its on Saturdays.

Theres this guy in one of my classes that was actually lobbying for your votes. He talked for like a minute basically begging us to vote for him. What a loser

hahaha yeah, voting for a king or queen of UMD? 30,000 kids, and the people running for king or queen probably know about 1% of them.

yeah, i dont really get it either...

i know some people who have/are running this year and in the past and i don't really see their motivation.

i dont know why ayone would really want to pay money to go to the event they have for it either.

and the "campaigning" is basically said person andtheir cronies passing out free tootsie rolls and putting posters up all over the place for about a week

We don't have 'Homecoming' or 'Tootsie' rolls in NZ.
I'm Kinda' glad...If you wanna' dress up you have a dress up party, and if you want something yummy, you have Fish and Chips.
