has anyone seen this?
it's a japanese cooking show, where they have 3 or 4 "iron chefs" who are apparently the best in japan. and then they get challengers to compete against them in a cook off. they get an hour to cook as many dishes as possible with a special ingredient that changes every week.

best show on television.

yes it is a good show, especially when your drunk with your mates at home and u watch it with the sound down, and provide your own commentary. very entertaining.

haha, but the voice overs are hilarious as well, especially that guy that continually yells "FUKASEN!"

I love it when they try and guess what the commentators always try and guess what they contestants are doing/what the ingredient is and they seem so chuffed when they're right. Also, that old grandpa looking judge dude who is always on it is a classic, hes always grinning.

But the show is wrecked by that tool who reveals the ingredients and thinks hes a samurai or something.

the host? apparently he a shakesperian actor, and that's why he's so theatrical.

i like the american one better, because though the voice overs are great on the japanese one, the american one is way easier to follow and more entertaining. plus its hosted by alton brown and he's neato.

Oh, the Japanes one beats the US one hands-down.

At the Exploratorium science center each year they do a parody event called "the Iron Science Teacher", which is done the same way except instead of cooking a dish, each pair of teachers gets a mess of props and has to come of with a science lesson/demonstration. (y)

i'd watch it if they had jap commentary. i hate the english voice-overs.

it's like watching the D1 grand prix - you can only watch it with the jap commentators. fucking ace fun!

I have a Black Belt in marshmallow roasting. When I'm not destroying "all things good" I can make a pretty decent smore.
