Know any Beastie Boys fans outside this board?

Do you or did you have friends or family members that are/were fans of the Beastie Boys too, or are you the only one in your family and/or circle of friends that enjoys them?

Personally, I'm the only Beastie Boys fan I know. Neither of my parents are actual fans, although they both liked "Fight For Your Right To Party" when it came out in '86. My uncle on my father's side has License To Ill, but I think that's as far as he goes when it comes to the Beastie Boys. My uncle on my mom's side despises them, always has. Same with my cousins.

My friend likes some of their songs, but I wouldn't say he's a fan either. When I was in middle school, the only person who liked the Beastie Boys besides me was this weird hippie chick. The rest of my classmates hated them because they believed that "white boys cannot rhyme". I've lived in Miami for over a year now, and I have yet to meet a Beastie Boys fan. Everybody's either into that reggaeton shit or pop-punk.

I wonder if y'all have had better luck in finding someone to listen to the Beastie Boys with.

i have a few co-workers, friends.....but not as much as a fan as i am.

if they were i think they would have been a member on the borad.

i often ask the imfamous question, "Do you get down with the Beasties"?

they be like,...."yeah there ok". or "oooh yeah, BRASS MONKEY"......i just shake my head. :rolleyes: Some are like "OOhh yeah, there badass"!!, so i ask them about a few tunes and there like, HUH?!

No family or friends are die-hards like me . . . I fell in love with the BB's when I bought their Licensed to Ill CASSETTE TAPE, back in '87. I've been a fan ever since - yes I'm old! :o I was finally able to go to one of their concerts last year and I was pregnant so I wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I wanted to but it was a "dream come true"!!

People ask me what music im into and I sai Beastie Boys and they go "oh they annoy me with that stupid ch check it out song". And Intergalactic just hurts my ears. Im thinkin, sure shot ? root down ? every other song they have made. Ya cant say there shit just cause ya heard there songs like twice ever.

There are a fair number Beatsie Boys fans among my family and friends, none of them are on the board (as far as I know, anyway... ha). I'd say most people I know either enjoy their music to one degree or another, or at least recognize their greatness/importance.

I've written about it before, but my first experience with BBs was being annoyed by my little brother blasting Licensed to Ill from his bedroom... :D

aye know a good few people but i loved how a couple a weeks ago at college, i wiz talkin to a girl in my class bout music and shit and i just mentioned that i'm into the beasties and she goes " yeah i went to see em last year and it was amazin"

couldn't believe it. its strange though..... us beasties fans are very widely spread (easy on the inneundo!). there should be like a street survey done or some shit!

however there are a shitload of people i've turned into beastie fans just through hangin out at mine wit the choons on, or borrowing albums to people ( but only to the ones i can trust, and none that need money for smack)

well, as far as i know, i am the only person in my middle school that likes them!!! (n) (y) that is both a good thing and a bad thing. the bad part is i get physically and verbally hurt, the good part is that it makes me a very unique 13 year old (y) :) but my art teacher kind of likes them :confused:

I'm the only one that's an actual fan if you know what I mean, but I do know people that like some of their songs or own LTI. Like, my best friend likes these songs only: girls, brass monkey, fight for your right, Check it out, and I don't know. But everybody knows who they are it seems like.

yes, lots. there's a bunch of people in my class at school who like them, which i enjoy especially as they name tunes like sure shot and root down as their favourites (y)

thres a lot of people who are really into their music, but their understanding of music is so deep that they'll have mad appreciation for the beasties but many others too, and you don't see them on boards and that. i've met about 20 of these people at this music tech course.
