I love Dylan, love Scorsese. Good documentary, but not quite the second coming the hype insisted.

Some folks are saying it's Scorsese's best movie since Casino. Two problems there: his best movie since Casino is My Voyage to Italy; plus, Casino kinda sucked.

Anyway. No Direction Home. Rent but don't buy.

It was shown at the Popcorn (http://www.popcorn.nu/) filmfestival last weekend, but luckily there was something much more interesting being shown at the same time on the other theaters. Three and half hours of Dylan? No thanks!!!
I did take a few posters tho, in case I could sell them on eBay or sumtin...

I knew more before I watched the show. I think Bob Dylan is an incredible musician and no one article, documentary or book can sum up all the avenues he opened.

Scorsese's documentary will go down as the definitive film of Dylan transforming from acoustic to electric. But the actual CD release of "Live 1966" is more gripping. The music by itself does the job.

Bob Dylan actually narrating the film is great (y) ....Just him talking on the film is really the best part. I can barely stand seeing Dylan Live, but his music is great....just the music, by itself, without analysis, works PFM.

bob dylan is a poetic, musical genius. theres no counting how many of his songs made such a difference in many peoples lifes, and even the world. but guess what!... thats not his birth name!
