Just picked up the album. Its got its bright points, but its really REALLY short, its only 23 minutes. It was done before I got home! But Run def holds it down on the mic in my opinion, and the old school beats are tight too. Any thoughts on it?

oh yeah and theres tons of Beastie lines on the cd.
the first lines of the first song are a good example.

I think it's possible to listen to the entire album on the Rev. Run myspace page. (???)

I've heard it's really good, but far too short, as well. But it's encouraging to hear he's still got it!

yeah...just watched the vid on the cd, I think they said the entire thing was made in 10 days...ha, makes 6 years look bad.... :p ...this could explain the length

It's kinda formulaic. Pretty much every beat samples a well known rock song. It sounds like a bunch of mash-ups. It's not bad, just short. I'm sure the DMC album will be a lot worse, either way.

I didn't think it was too bad but, like everyone has noted already, it's very short.

They also sampled "I Love Rock and Roll" which is kind of disappointing to me since I was working on something with that sample in it. Then I pick this up and it's in there being used. Eh, whatever, that happened to me with that Trick Daddy song too. Balls.

I don't make mixes, but something similar happened to me. My freshman year at college, I had a decent walk to campus. Everyday I would be making beats and rhymes in my mind. Kind of fantasy, but real too.

Anyway, one day I got this awesome idea to sample the beat from "There's something happening here....." Then seriously, later that year, I'm watching TV and a commercial comes on for the movie He Got Game and PE used my fucking sample!!!!!!

No one ever believes me.

He was on Weekends at the D.L. last night and he looked like he was getting PISSED. At about the time some stand up comedian said to kill all the humans who fuck birds with that new flu, I could count the ways in his mind as to how he was going to banish him to hell for saying that.

His CD shows that he still got it, that he is a force to think of in the hip hop community. I am really impressed by his material on the album, and am also hooked on the show he has on MTV every Thursday at 10:30pm. The show is called "Run's House," check it out and see what you think. I am really impressed by the show, and to see how he is a private person.
See ya.

That sounded really sincere and nothing like a blatant promoting.

Well, I just filled up yesterday so we can take my car... and I don't wear jackets. I went all last winter without wearing anything heavier than a sweatshirt just to prove that I could, I think I'm going to try again this year.

I don't know though, I got pretty cold a couple times there and it's starting to feel plenty cold to me already up here. Damn it all. Weather is so fickle and so am I.
